tail light assembly fell off?

when i was out trail riding yesterday my tail light assembly broke off. like the fender broke in half. anyone know how to fix this? for now i bundied it up with a cargo net. i'm thinking some bungie cords around the rear rack is going to be my only permanant fix.

My 2 cents; find out if the fender is a copy of some Honda or Suzuki, and buy an aftermarket fender for it. Seems like these chinese plastics just dont make it.

Hopefully it will be a dirtbike fender with no light, which will let you shop around for a lightweight taillight.

This combo should last for more aggressive riders.

FMY,

Kinda hard to tell from th epics, but it looks like the inner fender has busted, the black section that your lights and tag attch to on the rear. If this is the part you need, I will try to get a hold of one for you that comes from the Hi-Bird units that I have. I know the Deputygene was looking for this same part a while back and I was going to help with one before Tank actually located one for him.
PM me if this is what is needed and I will do what I can for you.
Tom

Just happened to me too. I had alot of extra weight with reflectors and brackets and stuff hanging. Fixed it with metal flanges, might be a permenant fix might not. Pics in page 9 of gallery. Thankfully, the tail light wires won't allow the fender to fall into the spokes. Dinged up my licence plate pretty good though. :( I've been riding for a couple days now with no cracks or stress.

Hmm, I'll have to take a close look at mine to see if I can head off this potential problem but looking at new2riding pics I see my bike is a little different than his.Hope mine has better supports up there.

I used tin studs, it's used in office drywall. Thin, light and fairly sturdy. I would't have had to fix it if I took the weight off when I got the bike. I can tug harder on the fender now than I ever would have before. Cheap fix, solid improvement.

My bike is a 150cc Xingyue Easy. Xingyue Group, gets parts from all your companies and makes some parts themselves. It's a slap together, mix breed. 8O

i fixed mine. it was starting to get out of control.

i got some 2" mending straps from home depot. they are by the door hinges. i put one on each side of the fender and it turned out great. very sturdy now.

you see where it's made
