1200 degree BBQ black paint plus 500 degree clear enamel engine paint top coat maybe? I'm gonna try this too, but with the aluminum color. Hopefully I can find the paint at Walmart.

Site I found about it.

VHT offers a semi-gloss black, and it looks perfect on a bike exhaust. I found it at Napa.

I've heard very good reports concerning VHT paint.

I have used it for years. Very easy to work with, cheap, holds up well.

I have had the crf230 pipe here for awhile and the painting was done then , so i don't remember exactly . i am however pretty sure i used a high heat grill flat on the pipe and a glossy black standard paint on the heat shield . 2 separate hour or so rides and no display of any burn-off . The rear section after welding and cleaning, i applied a semi-gloss grill paint . http://rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=108
