Andy has new SSR's in stock. 200cc and 250cc

Other than the decals they look like Q's.

Much more money than they used to be.

I rode the 250. Just around town I can't say it feels much more powerful than the 200 but I can tell there is a difference, especially down low.

I'm not sure how I feel about the wheel/tire combination though. I think they are 18's front and rear with wide 50/50 tires. It seems a bit like a grown up TW.

Nice bike, but a little pricey.

I did notice some QC glitches.

The rear brake has excessive travel and likely air in the system. The front brake despite a SS line was very weak, almost like the pads were contaminated.

The lights on the panel, like the neutral light and high beam indicator were always half lit, and the clutch was hard to operate and stiff and squeaky. Just easy dealer prep type stuff, except a possible wiring/electrical issue in the instrument panel.

Would still consider one if I could finance one, but just bought a new commuter/project TMEC 200 brand new in the box (cash).

I don't know what he paid for them but I' sure there is some room built into the price.

I have a feeling that SSR has their dealers stick close to MSRP with little room for negotiating. On their site, one can link to authorized online dealers of SSR product. One brick and mortar dealer is a shop in El Monte, Cal. not too far from SSR's headquarters. I think they will ship a bike for MSRP ('free shipping'). Another dealer slightly farther away from SSR in Simi Valley, Calif offers the 250 for $3k OTD in California. Otherwise, at least not yet, have we seen dramatic price reductions like we saw on the Qlink XF/XP bikes periodically throughout its life.

Nice looking bike. I'll take orange, please.

I kept thinking this was a smaller bike, then I looked closely and see it's motor has a horizontal cylinder,
so what size is it?

Nice looking bikes, I would love braffing up the logging roads on the 250!

I think that the little bike is a 125. As far as the other two bikes go, they seem quite good, and they may be worth the asking price. It is just a little shock to my system to know that I bought the identical bike for about $1500, three times, not that long ago LOL

I got my 2009 new for a little over $2000. The SSRs have a few things mine (ours) didn't, however. I got a rear rack (first one) from Carl at MCM but it comes standard on the 200 and 250. They also have adjustable forks and a disk rear brake. I don't think the tires suit the purpose of the bike, though. Still, for what I paid for mine, an extra $900 for the added features plus 50 more cc seems fair.

I think the 250cc bikes represent a good value. However, I would much prefer a 21-inch front wheel for off road riding.

I would also, but those wide, almost TW200 like tires might work well in sandy and soft terrain which is common here, I don't know.

To ride in the sand high power and low weight is usually the ticket, but wide tires might compensate.

That's about the price Doug sells his for. He said that SSR has an agreement (or something) with it's dealers about pricing. There's not a ton of margin in them and they don't want a dealer grosely undercutting other SSR dealers like other CB's have done over the years.
To me, even though they are pricey compared to my 09 Q, I still think they're the top-o-duh-line CB in todays market and well worth the cost, compared to the Japanese equivalent. The Suzuki or other may have more modern set-ups and F&F may be a bit better....but not twice the price worth, especially with how mellow I ride now-a-days. If I was still pushing bikes to their limits, I'd spend the extra dough on newest/latest.

Doc, How did the odd-sized tires work for you? Mrs 2LZ is looking for more of a super-moto (mostly paved canyons)....but with some off-road ability for dirt roads and light trail riding. This tire set up looks like it may be a good, stable, capable combo.

I rode my Zong with a pair of 18-inch tires for quite a while. For the type of riding you describe, the SSR tires should perform well for Mrs. 2LZ.
