I bet he was worried because you hadn't lowered the face shield on your fancy Chinese helmet.

I'm glad you arrived home safely, Joe. The CSC blog reports a tentative ETA (estimated time of arrival) of February 20, 2015 for the Zongshen RX3 bikes.

Great performance Joe. Just looking at the picture my initial impression was you don't have a clue!

Even if I wasn't in the market for the RX3 I would still be impressed with the way CSC s rolling this bike out. Listening to customers, responding to customers, keeping customers informed and their honesty is unheard of in today's marketplace. I tip my hat to Joe and Steve on their marketing approach.

Do you want a camouflage RX3?

That is kinda cool. If were to do it, it would be a Desert Tan, or OD.

Yes, the customer involvement with the CSC rollout of the Cyclone has been fantastic. I've been nothing but impressed with level of feedback and interaction on our level to shape the final product that is arriving on our shores.

I'm interested in the additional sub fender shown in the Tourfella photos. Joe is this an after market item we can bring to the states?

I'm sure Joe will reply concerning CSC's plans to import the sub-fender. However, I can tell you the sub-fender also requires a modified swingarm, which has mounting points behind the brake caliper for that fender. Of course, if you don't mind welding the mounting points onto the stock swingarm, you won't need the modified swingarm.

Good response, Spud.

We decided not to bring this in as an option on the first bikes for exactly the reason you stated. The accessory subfender requires a different swingarm that is compatible with the subfender. If you don't mount the subfender on this special swingarm, the subfender attach points look out of place. Our assessment was that not that many people would opt for the subfender (and we didn't want to bring in bikes with the subfender-compatible swingarm sporting the unused attach structure). And, truth be told, we think the bike looks a lot cleaner without the subfender. We decided to not include it on the stock bike.

If you want the subfender, we will offer the swingarm that accepts the subfender, the subfender itself, and the attach hardware. We're finalizing the accessories list, and we'll have a price for this in the near future.

On a separate note, I just posted Zongshen's story about their ride around China on the CSC blog. It's pretty cool.

Thanks, Joe; again this why this feels like an unprecedented level of customer involvement in a new product release. To have this level of communication with the one or two people involved in bringing RX3 into the country is amazing; I literally just ask this question late last night and got feed back in hours! Thanks for the detailed feed back. I didn't realize the fender required a different swing arm and I won't likely upgrade that just to get an additional rear fender. You made the right over all choice not to have the bike fitted with a swing arm that included odd mounting tabs sticking off of it.

Aluminum Luggage mounting brackets

Was wondering if the aluminum luggage mounting brackets are the same for the original plastic luggage mounts or are they different and included with the aluminum boxes? Thanks, rj

The Tourfella mounting bracketry is different than are the brackets used for the stock luggage. The $849.95 price includes the new mounting system.
