one time 4% sales tax. renewal is based on first letter of last name. mine will be good until September at which time I'll have to pay again.

my 4% was based on a selling price of $1099 which was on the bill of sale.

Yeah, in NC it would be 3%, plus annual tax, plus annual tax, plus annual tax, plus annual tax.......

on a side note, it appears there would be no annual inspection for SD renewal either, so that's another $13 per year saved too. in the long run, it will actually pay me back to have a SD bike.

the title and registration will have my north carolina address on them, so I guess we'll see. if I DO get pulled over, it won't be for speeding!

I'm going to get a blue line sticker from my son to put on the bike too. that has helped me in the past!

what paperwork did you have? I was told by the DMV officer that even if I got around it and got it titled, they would eventually catch up with me and revoke it. I guess it we'll see how it goes for you.

Just went to the title office. Didn't go to the actual officers. If it gets revoked I guess I will go the SD route. They do license scooters that are Chinese, so maybe it'll work.
