On a side note, if you tweak that wire retainer for your front brake line, you can get it to go inside of both of those ridges on that rubber insulator. It takes some judicious bending and squeezing with pliers. My OCD made me do it!
Thanks . No I got it on taobao.com $54 and some change delivered. I originally ordered with a stack plate cooler but was out of stock. https://world.taobao.com/item/254075...?fromSite=main

Yup, To the point it's cheaper 1 at a time with shipping than in bulk as China post small items are pretty cheap to ship. I got 6 of the valve cover coolers in with the stacked plate coolers and shipping alone was $129 usd. My wholesale price with shipping in bulk is more than you paid. Still waiting on seeing if they can come up with an UNCRIMPED end on one hose but haven't heard back.

On your routing, Not sure it make a lot of difference on a bike but on cars, Trucks, Heavy equipment and hydraulic systems the hot (out) line always goes to the top as heat rises and if it went into the bottom the cooler/radiator efficiency is compromised. Just food for thought..........

That's the way I have it.

Post some pictures of your install. If I remember right you had installed a check valve on yours. It will work that way just have to make sure that the cooler is filled completely with oil so that air will not get trapped in the cooler. But I know you knew that already. It was nice that they supplied a syringe with the kit to do that.

Will do in a day or two. Repainting the new side covers. Time to install my new blinker / running lights as well.

Great. I don't think I ever seen a pictures of your bike. BTW I check the oil level last night and the oil didn't drain back to the block so I guess a check valve is not needed. I'm going to flip the mounting bracket this afternoon when I get home. that push the cooler back about 2".

I flipped the bracket and rerouted the hoses. It really tucks it up nice and tight under the plastic. Hoses look better too. And fixed the brake line retainer for JeremC

Your install looks really good. I’ve been planning to install a cooler on my Lifan. It looks like it was meant to go where you installed it and seems like the best place to reduce risk of debris damage. I do have some concern about the volume of oil in the sump decreasing too much when it is running since it would then have additional total volume. The check valve mentioned would address this since it would allow the additional volume to remain in the cooler, but when it’s time for an oil change, it seems that you would then need to drain the cooler itself in addition to the standard drain plug removal.

It might calm my concerns to just install mine at sump level and add a debris guard, but it looks really good how you have it installed.

Megadan: I like your thoughts on the fitted oil lines.

That's the way it should be, but without the check valve the oil will drain back into the block. I haven't checked it today, but when I get home this afternoon I'll see if it drained back or not. If it did then I'll get a check valve. Another reason for feeding it from the bottom is so it doesn't get air bound. Feeding from the bottom will force the air out the top. If feed from the top and air is trapped at the top and the cooler will never completely fill with oil. Mounted horizontally with the connections on top is the ideal way it should be mounded. I had it mounded that way and put a 1" plastic spacer on the fender to lower it. The fender cleared the cooler but I didn't like the idea of the fender blocking the air flow across the cooler. The crimped end look nice but one end on each line should be left uncrimped so you can custom fit the lines. I was planning on buying a cooler from you but I wanted to get one before this weekend coming. We had planned on going on a off road trip over the weekend but looks like that may change due to rain.

Matt,
Just send the units out with a check valve that way when installing the check valve the length could be adjusted then.

Do you have the link to the version of the oil cooler with the stacked plate cooler?

Also, did any one else have a problem having the page from the link no translating?

Contact mjstef hawkclusters@gmail.com for the stack plate. He has the valve cover kit with the stack plate cooler and I think he is working on getting the oil screen version like my kit with the stack plate too.
