The LXR250F is generally for sale around $3500-3700 USD. An equivalentl new Crf250 is around double that here.

also, is there a larger engine that i can buy that will just fit right on?

but better question about tuning my current engine, i replaced the exhaust already, and tried to rejet it, even tried to have a dude at a bike shop rejet it, (idk if he knew what he was doing) and no matter what i did it wouldnt idle properly. it always sounded like it was running rich but it you leaned it out, it wouldnt run. no matter what i did it wouldnt work without the exhaust pipe with the catalytic converter on it. so i left that on and just replaced the muffler to close to no power gain.
The engine that comes in the LXR250F sells for around $1100. on its own and you would need to do fabrication work to make it mount to the frame, assuming it even fits. With the time and money invested in buying that engine and trying to make it fit you could simply buy a more powerful bike.

I would need to know your elevation to give proper jetting suggestions, and any other relevant mods to be able to help you start getting the carb dialed in.

.
I emailed Pitster Canada to see if they are bringing the LXR250F here. If it sold here for half the price of the Honda, it would be tempting.

The whole pricing/marketing differences between countries and regions is a mystery to me.

Import taxes, vehicle fees, and numerous other things come into play. I am looking at getting a new bike and have been doing various research on a few models I am interested in and noticed price disparities like that you are seeing as well. The Kawasaki Z900 is almost $1000 USD cheaper in the U.S. than it is in the UK when similarly equipped.

The inverse of that is that I have noticed the US Market generally has fewer options, both in terms of bikes and smaller things like color choices.

I would just add that the LXR250 leans more off-road oriented than the CRF250L and weighs 60lbs less. I looked long and hard at the 250L, but it leans too far to the street side for my riding habits. It would be a great little adventure bike for someone that doesn't get out on single track or goat trails.

Our riding conversations go like this:

"This looks like a REALLY BAD idea."

"Let's do it!"
