Question New York rider, interested in Bashan Storm

Hello all, I'm a New York resident interested in dual sport riding. I'm interested in purchasing a Bashan Storm. The DMV office says the following is required: 1) VIN with a legitimate WMI 2) MCO that does not say "off road only" 3) NHTSA placard riveted to the frame Does anyone know if the Bashan Storm has an NHTSA placard? The DMV state office is willing to view photos of the placard and MCO, and a sample VIN to tell me if I'll be able to register it. If anyone can help me out, that would be great! -TM

Welcome aboard. I'm almost positive the Bashan Storm has an NHTSA placard. One of the Storm owners should chime in and help you out.

I hope so. It's my impression that the Hawk, for example does not have the NHTSA placard.

It doesn't but we have had a few members that got there Hawk registered with no problems and then there were some that didn't have any luck. I guess it depends on who you talk too.

Storm Placards

My 2017 Bashan Storm has these two placards attached to it. Is one of these the NHTSA placard? By the way I love the Storm.

That's why I'm checking for the placard on the Bashan Storm, I don't want to take any chances.

How has the Storm worked out for you, and what was your experience with your retailer? I'm in NY also and ready to order either one of these or a Hawk.

So far so good. A little tall for me but riding is nice. The storm is definitely eye candy in the city. I got mine from superior power sports took 3weeks to get to me and another 2 for the title. Not much of an issue with these guys
