Thats about where you want it, and yes this damn heat today and tomorrow. Just got back from Bike week in Laconia and my front rocker cover gasket on my harley decided to let go....oh well i have a spare on hand , but am not going to touch it till it cools down. I got the Hawk to ride if i feel the need for wind therapy...

made it home i hope. yes i did not make the bike week this year ,but had much fun with them years ago,i took the hawk about 30 miles out on back roads fun bike for sure ,got her up to 40mph seems about it without the mikuni carb upgrade ,come the first of next month getting that an we are going to further mod the air box jet kit ,just thinking about 25 pilot an 110 at 1010 feet ,my buddie said he would get this one up if i wanted he an i agree for the $40.00 its just easyer to work with over the stock carb ,actually i am seeing some say they are selling a real mikuni for $47.00

the bike is very low geared will need to say 43 tooth an 16 tooth with 100+ link chain something like that i dont wan to jam the 17 in there ,so would rather go down few more in back lseems most go with 45 an 17 tooth, not used to the lack of power ,but kinda like it for the back roads ,gas gauge dont work will work on that an i seems the odometor is off ,but all an all fun bike need to true the wheels this week an check the spokes ,for now just keeping it in town or around town at the local rec park

going to order the vm26 mikuni carb an a jet kit any thoughts on this ,this week i plan to do further mods the air box with few more air holes ,also adjust the valves ,check spokes an wheels true ,in the weeks to come i plan to buy the full exhaust unless my buddie talks me into moding the stock one,may just take the baffle out when the better carb gets hear ,i want to do like 16 tooth in front with like 43 in back with 100 link chain ? wich chain should i get ,dont plan on pounding the bike in the woods or the street ,i know there is like exact ways some guys are doing things that i can do ,but i feel like the 45 tooth an the 17 tooth the 17 tooth will be to big ,mabey thoughts ideas thank you very much in advance .

oh gas gauge does not work an seems the speedo may be off some ,i feel its pretty commen on the bikes from factory

will need alot more than a 100 link chain, i have 45 rear and 15/16/17 front and run a 128 RK chain, have not tried the 17 and 16 yet but do know the 16 will have no issues.
The stock exhaust is restricted by the cat inside it, there is a thread on here on how to cut and remove the cat.
As for the carb the mikuni is a good upgrade, i have it but am still waiting on some pilot jets to arrive to dial it in, with all the mods i am running a 120 main and 25 pilot, i do have the airbox mod with a K&N filter but will soon be changing that to a pod filter instead.
