Question Bashan Storm 250 Starter - repair or replace?

Hello all,

The starter on my Bashan Storm 250 went from intermittent to not working. I have 12 volts at the power lug on the starter case. Should I attempt to repair the starter or just replace it? If the latter, where can I find I find a starter for the Bashan Storm 250?

-TM

12 volts is not enough. Should be somewhere over 13. If it doesn't start working with 13 volts, try jumping the solenoid. Both the battery ground wire and the + wire to the starter are barely big enough to do the job. First improvement you can make to the bike should be heavier wires to and from the battery...ARH..

The starter

If it comes down to needing to rebuild or replace the starter, I would recommend finding a reputable shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. With the “New” tariffs on imports, it will probably be cheaper and the turnaround time would probably be faster too!
