Hawk1 or Hawk2

Just about ready to finally pull the trigger and order my Hawk, intention after reading posts here is to go with q9powersports until I stumbled across saferwholesale and they are advertising the Hawk2...........being a new guy I had no idea that a Hawk2 even existed!
It’s a couple hundred dollars more expensive and what I can see is the speedo is different and the plastic and graphics may be different also, plus alarm and remote start, which to be honest doesn’t really interest me too much, can anyone tell me more and guide me what to do as I’m now scratching my head again and not sure how to proceed. What would you guys do?

Appreciate any guidance.
Brian

Hawk 2

They are exactly the same, besides the Hawk 2 has an electric start. The speedo I never saw a difference, but there might be. I recommend you get you hawk from txpowersports. Not unless you really want an electric start. But I would save a few dollars and buy the digital cluster.

Thanks Alpha Reign, if they are the same I will just stick to my plan and go with the “original” Hawk, always in the plan and budget to upgrade the speedo anyway. Would I not be correct in saying though that they both have electric start?

The Hawk 2 is a Bashan aka Enforcer. Bikes are very similar but different manufacture.

Thank you guys, that makes it a bit clearer for me now, just need to finally decide on a color, I keep changing my mind but there is something about the green that draws me to it, even though I’ve read here that the black ones are faster! 😊

The Bashan bike was released to compete with the RPS Hawk. I believe one difference is the Bashan is set up with street gearing. The Bashan is EPA/DOT certified for 49 states, whereas the Hawk is technically certified as an off road bike; Florida won't make a difference as far as registration goes, however. I personally would go for the Bashan, but that is a personal preference due to the street friendly gearing and other factors.

The one reason I would go with the Hawk is that the Hawk comes with duel piston calipers with larger brake pads vs the single piston caliper with the smaller hockey puck brake pad on the bashan. Yes the bashan comes with more street friendly gearing but depending on what type of riding you plan on doing you will end up changing sprockets to suit you riding preference. Remote start is a nice feature but most owners either don't use it or end up removing it.

Thanks JerryHawk, I’ve pretty much set my heart on the Hawk, I’ve been lurking on this site for a while and been watching all the awesome YouTube vids on the Hawk upgrades and maintenance, really can’t wait to get it ordered now and get my hands dirty, for me the build and maintenance is going to be a huge part of the fun of ownership.
Looking forward to posting pics and asking for guidance and opinions as I go along.

The Hawk is a great bike not to mention many more members have the Hawk and there are plenty of discussions on the Hawk; they are pretty much completely sorted out. JerryHawk250 mentioned the remote start which I forgot about--I don't think I would be using it for any reason. The Hawk is an excellent bike, and sprockets do not cost much. I have liked all the Bashan lineup, which is why I would lean towards them personally. With a guy nicknamed JerryHawk250 steering you towards the Hawk, how can you go wrong?!

Oh...don't buy from Saferwholesale. Part of the reason they rename bikes is they are the type of online dealership that pulls the ol' bait and switch. Numerous members have told tales of woe dealing with them. Motobuys.com does the same thing. Buyer beware...

Thanks culcune, my plan is to go with Q9powersports, seem to have favorable reviews and their price is good with free shipping here to Florida.
