Winter is finally breaking here in New England... I got out with the Pitster Pro XTR250 today. This time in the the real kind of dirt, as opposed to the frozen kind on the last run

Video coming soon....

Was it as good as expected? I have to say, the snow run with your buddies looked pretty fun! But I can imagine you wanting to ride off-road the way God intended--in plain ol' dirt! Without permafrost...

That first run was ice not snow, it was mostly scary and not fun. This time was a much better run and very fun
The XTR capable enough(better after some suspension tweaking) Its a fun off-roader, that's all that matters to me right now. The guys I'm riding with in this vid are on kitted out KTM 300's and there is no way the XTR is hanging with them. But they are racers and I'm out there playing. Next month I'm riding in a Hare Scramble, my goal is to complete it and enjoy myself...

Don't forget to check your spokes
Especially on a new bike or rims.....I'm running the Pitster in a NETRA hare scramble on the 14th and starting to get it ready. With ~200 miles on the clock thought it would be a good idea to do a spoke check. I found several significantly loose front and rear. (If you're interested, the XTR 21/18 has 6mm front and 7mm rear spoke caps)

Here's a clear and concise video if you're unfamiliar with how to do this:

I hardly ever use FB, the only reason I'll go on is if I need to be in contact with an organized ride group, I need some info from the Pitster group or my jiu-jitsu club. You won't find me posting pics of my lunch salad everyday ..
