Nice!

Congrats on the bike!

I only had 2 small extra bolts, both about 1 1/2" long w/ nuts, too. I spent 2 days looking to see if I could find a place to put them, but eventually chalked them up as extras.

And my neutral is also a bit sketchy. I can put it in neutral and get the light on, but unless I slowly release the clutch, it will engage, usually in second gear. It's fine if just ease the clutch out...it's never engaged like that, but if I just pop it out thinking it's safely in neutral, it wants to engage. But, knowing what to expect and acting accordingly, it's not a problem.

Also, I wouldn't keep that chinese oil in there. I warmed up my egine with it and then changed the oil before mine was ever put into gear.

Brian @ MotoXtreme provides fairly comprehensive assembly notes, but they were still a tad shy of explaining it all for the novice....but maybe that's a good thing? Being too dependant on instructions could lead to apathy...or worse, if the instructions are wrong the unexperienced could follow them to the letter and still have an unsafe ride. Give a man - teach a man - fish type thing. It's better to encourage learning.

And last but not least, I think I only had .4 on my odometer 8O

Good to hear you got your bike and are riding.
I had a whole sealed up bag (Appx 50) kick stand bolts and an open bag(appx30) nuts to go with them. I don't think I'll run out of kick stand bolts soon.

I'll check out those assembly note, thanks.

Had a few chuckles reading the manual.

Just ordered a 16 tooth front sprocket only to find out tonight that it came with a 17 tooth already. So, i guess i'll have a spare.

The 58 tooth rear sprocket will become a forty something ASAP.

My wife scolded me for driving across the street w/o a helmet

Sounds like the worker that was filling the boxes must also attach the kickstands

No, it is the way that the selector spider is manufactured. There is no way around it. Normally the tabs are all the same size, but in this situation it is much smaller. This makes skipping over it quiet easy. I have learned to downshift down to first then up to N before I stop. It is dang near impossible to get it up to N when you come to a complete stop.

Guess you only really need neutral to start it anyway.

I can start in any gear now.

My clutch switch broke so it is bypassed.

Took her out for her first spin. 80 miles for the days ride, almost broken in. Shepherdstown, Scrabble, Swan Pond and all over creation

She went without a hitch. Never had a bike with REAL brakes before

Wasn't happy about needing to rev 8K to go 50MPH though. Waiting for the 39 toother to show up.

Took a tour of Anteitem Battlefield, stopped by Dam 4 on the Potomac and WOW the water was so high from all the rain. 8O

I was kinda hoping I could get a bike without stickers anyhoo!
Not anti-china bike, just anti-logo period. Even with my cars.
Who did you get that Viva from?

Wait, you mean EPA sticker?

Bought mine from www.atvsimports.com.

Has the EPA sticker, but no DOT sticker. Does have all the regular Viva decals except the line of stars- and stuff.

AFAICT the only qualm that the DOT would have with this bike is that the headlights have to be turned on manually. I just leave the switch on so i don't forget.

The screen printed logos on the seat are spotty on one side and the top which is a very small irritant.
