New Member from Michigan with a Hawk 250 coming

Howdy everyone! Just saying Hi while I am literally waiting by the minute for Fedex Freight to show up at my door. I ordered a Hawk 250 from Orion Powersports and it's supposed to show up today. I've been looking around here for a couple weeks as I did research on the Hawk and decided which modifications I would do before I started riding the bike. I bought it primarily to ride with my son who is learning to ride on a Honda XR100R. We want to do some offroad, but I want to be able to use it for getting around town and to work occasionally. I used to have a TW200, but I found it to be a big chunkier than I wanted. So when I started looking for an enduro, I just couldn't find anything under $2K that wasn't from the 80's. So as an experiment I decided to give a china bike a chance. This site was the major influence for deciding to get the Hawk and join the community. I plan on chronicling my experience with Orion Motorsports, as it doesn't seem like there is too much info on them on the site. I look forward to the bike and my time here.

Thanks! I've been through A LOT of the intro information and modifications for the Hawk. There is such a wealth of information. It is awesome. I've already got a new carb, chain, 17T front sprocket, locktite, and I'm ready to change out engine oil before I even start it up. I went with Orion because they offer free assembly. We'll see how that all turns out, and how it shows up on the truck. I'll be taking lots of pictures for documentation.

Even though it comes pre-assembled, Still go through the whole bike as if you were assembling it for your own piece of mind. I will not put my life in other peoples hands. Double check everything.

You got it! I plan to pull most of the bolts, threadlock, and torque them back down to spec. I just figured that assembled means that someone had to go through and at least make sure all of the parts were there coming off the ship. Too many times I get DIY stuff that is missing a part of two. Of course, no guarantees, but, what the heck.
