2019 TaoTao TBR7 Battery Issue

In June I purchased a new TBR7 TaoTao bike. From July 1 to now I have driven 5000 (fake, not real) miles. We hit a two week cold, rainy spell, and I did not ride the bike. Now the battery is dead.

I opened up the compartment and was supprised to find the following battery there: 9B9-BS manufactured by Dynavolt.

I went to their website and discovered that that company does not, or not longer manufactures that battery. Based on the number, 9B9, it is a 9volt battery, as Dynavolt's numbering system (12) or (6) indicates the voltage.

The problem: I need a replacement battery, a 12 volt, that will fit the space.

Any suggestions?

9v? That has to be a miss print, the battery would have boiled and failed within a few minutes at 14-15v from the reg/rectifier. It's probably a 9ah battery, measure your battery holder but you should be able to get a 7-9ah to fit. Maybe even a bit bigger if you want do some mods.

As duck9191 started, just measure the size of the battery. It will be a 9amp battery. Here's a battery reference and find one that is same size or close to it. pay close attention to pole locations. http://www.batteriesinaflash.com/mot...ross-reference

Also, spend a few extra $$ and go AGM, no maintenance other than keeping it charged and they seem to hold up better. I would grab a float charger too, your battery will last much longer especially when just sitting. Does the tbr7 have the alarm/remote start? that will kill your battery in a few weeks on its own.

MightyMax put out a decent AGM and SLA battery which is what I'm running on my Hawk and ATV. they have been holding up well for a year so far. https://www.mightymaxbattery.com/c57...wer-sport.html

I bought a 2020 TBR7 I think it had the same battery. It worked one time then it didn’t start the bike again, by the second day it was dead. I went to my local Carquest and they hooked me up with a replacement that fit perfectly an exact match using the numbers on the battery. $45! Although I had my bike back on the road immediately. I contacted Q9 from which I purchased the bike and they sent me out a brand new battery. Kudos to them. It took a couple of months but to be honest their warranty department does try hard.
I believe it’s a different battery than the Hawk so please just measure your battery carefully I tried 3 batteries before I found the correct one.
