Apollo Deluxe first start up/ride

Hey all! Just an update! I finally got my apollo out of the basement and in garage. I did my first oil change, and finished putting the plastics back on then went over everything. Got my 93 gas then fired it up. All is great so far I let it idle for a bit then I took it around the block a few times. Got a new spark plug coming in on monday and a new NGK spark plug cap. Got all of my paper work needed to be road legal..now just time for me to gather $300+ for the registration/plates and insurance :/ weather is clearing up here in buffalo!

Yippee! Hope you enjoy it.
I would recommend you run ethanol-free gas tho. That alcohol mixed stuff will wreak havoc on you carb, tank, and fuel lines. Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the tip! I've been searching for that and I cannot find it anywhere in my area. I have heard what you said before so I figured I'd do I, but I just can't find it. I tried to look online but its saying closest efree gas is 1.5 hours away. If I find one closer I'll always use it

A lot of marinas carry ethonal-free gas, if you've got any larger lakes around you. I usually buy my gas for my Chinese toys at a gas station on a larger lake near me. It's a bit pricey but worth not having the headache of a gummed up carb.

YouTube making your own ethanol free gas.
In the mean time, ride it like it's stole and park it like it's rented. Don't blow it up but don't be too easy on it either. See how to break in your engine threads.

Ill youtube that today if I cant find any efree gas closer! Gonna check the marinas. Also with the break in thing, thats just like an oil discussion on every forum haha everyone seems to have different opinions on break in methods...then in the end many people have good, if not the same results. Exactly what you said is what Ive done with my other two china bikes. Dont blow it up but dont be too easy on it and they ran great. Im gonna do that with this one as well for the first 500-600 miles.

Thanks! yeah it sounds like a nice smooth rumble., Its louder than my bashan storm but not in a bad way. I have an aftermarket exhaust but im not even gonna put it on yet, dont need to until im ready to drop a few lbs off the bike!

BuffaloChinaRider - do you mind if I ask your stats (height/weight/inseam)? Id be curious to see some riding videos as well.

One other question - how would you compare your two China bikes? Are they about the same in quality or do you see a marked difference? Any other differences of note?

Very much appreciate the videos!

I am 5'10 skinny/muscle build at 190LBS not sure on inseam but I'll tell you I'm not a super short guy but I am not totally flat footing this bike like I'd want to. I'm almost tippy toes on both legs haha its kind of a tall bike I feel like. That can be fixed with the adjustable spring. I'll probably leave it as is. The shocks are pretty still might I add. Yous will have riding footage soon! I have a go pro and helmet mount in my cart so in a few weeks there will be riding videos, can't wait. In comparison to my Bashan storm that I sold, this bike to me is more attractive, it handles better as well. It is lighter and more flick able than the Bashan. The exhaust is way louder on the apollo than on the Bashan. The Bashan is a very quiet bike, I couldn't even hear it running sometimes. Making adjustments on the Bashan is way easier than on the apollo. On the apollo its like they did NOT want you messing with or adjusting anything. Its all very hard to get and super tucked away. Both bikes are good but I'm an all street rider who prefers a very aggressive looking bike so the Apollo takes the cake! I love it, feel good riding it. Feels like any other "real" motorcycle ive been on. Ask any more questions if you have any and I'm happy to help.
