front sprocket bolts

....so while taking a short ride yesterday on my tbr7 my front sprocket bolts were evidently loosening and gave up leaving me at the side of the road about 2 miles from home

.....after a fair amount of coasting downhill (and pushing up hill ) i got the bike home and pulled the front sprocket cover off to find no sprocket at all and no bolts...

where can i purchase the bolts (and the retention plate aka fixing platetoo) and is there a better part available like maybe a actual Honda part?

obviously i will be using some loctite this time :doh

thanks and cheers

Kenny could you hit your local hardware store and grab 2 M6x10mm bolts and test fit?

But he's missing the entire sprocket too. Must have fallen off and out.

Yea the entire front sprocket, fixing plate and both bolts... just casually cruising down the road fell off... I did take on the ohv trails few days prior glad it didn't fall off then some of those trails were not conducive to pushing a bike... (yes thats uphill wet clay I did make it though)

Gospel for sure... funny I didn't loctite (so mandatory) those but did most others when I assembled it... I also have discovered the nuts and bolts are metric (ish) and my sae stuff fits some stuff better...

lol, that is just Chinese quality at work there. Worn out dies and thread cutters/rollers. Pick up some good quality hardware at the local hardware store (Grade 10.9 recommended) and feel the difference in how little slop there is to the threads, and how much smoother it is.

If loctite isn't a good option, at the very least some lock washers under the bolt heads will do the job too.

Funny thing about this thread... although I have essentially painted my TBR in loctite from head to toe... I DEFINITELY missed those little suckas when I upgraded to a 17 tooth

solid advice for sure!

if you happen to know of any good assortment packs of metric nuts and bolts please let us know because my local hardware store single prices are nickel and diming me (and probably everyone else) to death
