I think Joe Henner is working on upgrade pistons and cams for the new 249cc engines. The new GPX/PisterPro engine will be 249cc and 6 speed. Off road only of course.

I sent Belmonte an email telling them that the engine is different and I am not happy because I have $300 of parts I can’t use because they are shipping the bikes with a different engine. We will see what they say.

I here what you saying, but it's also good to see they have made some improvements to the engine.
It would of been nice to know that before hand before spending the money. Now i know i need to check my engine before i order anything. The engine on my ghost is like yours. No sight glass so I'm sure it will be the same.
Check to see how the cam fits.

Your ghost definitely has the same engine. The Belmonte website has changed the specs for the engine on the ghost. What kind of higher speeds and rpms are you getting on the ghost? I feel like there is something not right with mine. Struggles to hit 65mph

More than likely Belmonte and Venom don't even know there was a change to the engine design. The manufacture probably made these change because of availability. Who knows?
I've never really pushed the Ghost yet but driven it at 70mph on the interstate and have had it up to 75mph once. These are GPS speeds and i calibrated my speedometer as well. I know I've gone over 9000 rpms for sure. I know my X22R I've gone over 10,000 rpms and never hit the rev limiter if it has one.
I can't remember but have you changed the rear sprocket?

Haven’t changed the sprocket yet but I have a 36 tooth ready. Is one of the mods I am doing now.

That will make a big difference in top speed and also make the engine feel so much smoother because the rpm's will come down while cruising 60-65 mph.

Meanwhile, back in Chongquin, the cylinder/piston destined for meathammer's bike arrives alongside the lower... "WTF, Chin, this piston is way wrecked, the rings broken and a big scratch in the cylinder. What do I do?" Chin: "Don't worry, they're starting the other line for the BigBoyYun. Just go over there and grab one of the piston cylinder sets and you can stuff that on. No one will ever know."
And so it happens that the BBK is slipped into the wild open market, never revealed by the model/serial number information. Making the engine a stellar performer compared to all the others.

So it’s true. I have a Frankenstein bike! Sent some pics to Joe Henner and he said it is a 165fmm cam and a 69mm bore. He said it happens and he has one like it .

So my x22R has the 69mm bore and 69mm cylinder head. It is definitely improved over the 65.6mm version. It does have the 65.5mm style camshaft and Joe Henner said the camshafts for 65.5 mm engines should work just fine on the 69mm.

Thank God my X22R hasn't arrived yet. It's supposed to be shipped on the 25th, but we'll see. I'm grateful I decided against ANY engine mods after hearing (and reading) this...

Take care...

Joe...

P.S. Makes me wonder if my bike will have any differences on it or not... I guess we'll see when it gets here...

Well that's good to know.

The big downside to this updated engine is lack of parts. I have been waiting on a head gasket for almost two weeks now. What little there is for the 69mm bore is not stocked in the US yet. I ordered a thin gasket from Joe Henner but he doesn’t even have the materials to make the gaskets and doesn’t know when he will have it.
