Replacement exhaust

Good day,
New china bike (soon to be) owner here

I have ordered a new tbr7, and waiting for delivery.
I have my list of possible mods in mind already. Thanks to this forum for all the great information.

I have a question on something I am not clear about.
The photos of the the exhaust shows some device right on the head pipe. Is that the pair ?

If I put a "full system" on what do I do with the hoses that were connected to that device?

I do not see the same devices on the hawk exhaust, or maybe I only saw old photos from the hawk.

Welcome aboard! There should be nothing connected to the exhaust. You may have been looking at a fuel injected bike which would have an O2 sensor connected to the header pipe.

The tbr7 just had a hose with a filter shoved underneath the tank and doesn't connect anywhere.

The paperwork says 2021. Lol. I bought it in September.

I also own a 2021 model (per the plate on the swing arm and paperwork) and it arrived to my door in September 2020.

To answer the original question, the hose thingy attached to the stock exhaust gets thrown away. The aftermarket exhaust from amazon did not have it. I highly recommend changing the exhaust and getting the copper compression ring with it when ordering. Makes a big difference in sound and your overall satisfaction factor with the bike.

This is the one I installed. Some are bent more accurately than others. Hopefully you get lucky and yours lines up perfectly. I own a 2021 TBR7 that I purchased September 2020.

The copper ring goes in between the engine and the new exhaust.

Jersey TBR7, just an FYI, Amazon sells those crush gaskets in multiple packs. If you search '40mm exhaust gasket,' it will show a pack of 10 for $8.39. Always good to have spares.
