Yep. Raider Dave. Saw him every evening. He was one of the Bench Buzzards. Damn shame. We will be helping his wife get everything in order once she surfaces.

I got my 2nd Moderna shot 3/26. Only side effect was sore arm & shoulder for about 36 hours. The Shingrex (shingles) vaxx has a more pronounced and longer duration of arm pain, in my case about 72 hours. And the injection site burned for about 3 minutes.

Well worth the minor inconvenience.

Just wanted to remind everyone that no one should seek or take medical advice from strangers on the internet, no matter what side you're on. You can of course discuss and make your opinions known if you choose to do so. The Admin & Mod team here are not in the business of deciding which info is right or wrong. Do your own research and decide for yourself.

And as always, please keep it civil and respectful.

Thanks guys!

I had the same experience. Both Moderna were a breeze (maybe a slight fever for an hour or two with the second one) but the 2nd Shingles made me sick for a day. On the other hand, my wife got shingles once and was in the hospital for several days so, I’m ok with the effects of the shots, for sure!

Having worked as a Nursing Assistant through the 90's, I saw cases of Shingles ranging from a mild red rash, up to severe cases with suppurating red blisters covering significant areas of the patients body. These were accompanied by severe pain, in some cases requiring narcotic painkillers.

That's why as soon as I was eligible, I requested it. Pro tip: Don't get two vaccines in the same arm, on the same day. On Feb. 6th, I got my Flu shot on the same day and the double barreled assault on my immune system was not pleasant. I felt like crap and my right arm and shoulder were very sore, with limited range of motion for 3 solid days, then started to abate.

Oh well, still worth it!
