Value of used TBR7

Hi all,

I’ve found someone local to me that has a 2021TaoTBR7 with 300 miles on it.

Their asking price is 1999.00, which I think is ridiculous.

What would be a fair counter offer?

Thanks,
Scott

Even though the bike has very low mileage you never know how it was taken care of. It could have 300 miles of gentle road riding or 300 miles of rough trail riding. I would do your do diligence in checking it out and if it looks and sounds good then I would think a fair price would be about $1200.

1200, tops. You can buy new for not much more, and you get a warranty, even though that has been proven at times to be as relevant as confederate currency. Peace of mind though, you buy new, you know it from day one. Be careful, a ton can be done/hidden, with only 300 on the clock…….

I am seeing them offered at $1600 new shipped.

I own one with most of the normal mods done and running well and I do not consider it worth more than $1200 and would sell it for that in a heartbeat.

When someone sells a bike with 300 miles (actually KM) on the clock there is something fishy going on. He can not tune it, he can not ride it, or his wife told him to get it out of the house!

Low ball it, offer him $850, when he gets over the heart attack put him on the computer and show him new offer prices, then offer him $700.

What do you have to loose? You are sure not going to pay him $1999 when you can buy new for $1600. This is a time when you get to really screw around with people!

I bought mine used with a little under 200 hawkometers on it. I paid $1200 for mine which wasn't a huge savings but it was local and I used the savings to do some mods. Used prices on these in my recent.searches have been between 1&2k with prices trending slightly upward. Condition is everything so look it over and make an offer, but make sure to get the title.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I’m not sure if I’ll pursue it or not. I messaged the seller.

It looks like it’s a pawnshop or small dealer.

If you are in the market for a Chinese bike I wouldn’t be overly concerned that someone trashed the bike because it has low miles and getting rid of it. Sometimes someone like myself who buys the chonda is very disappointed at the performance of the engine. I first thought this is the most gutless 250 I have ever seen. But after a few changes to the engine and carburetor exhaust and gearing, I really grew to love the bike. My Brozz would cruze 60-65 pretty good and 55 was not a problem no matter what. I don’t see too many Chinese bikes for sale around me. I paid $1750 for mine new and sold it just shy of $1500 with almost 4000 miles on it. I did have a lot invested in parts and accessories but you rarely get that money back.
There is a guy selling a TT 250 made by CSC here in the classified section that seems like a decent price if you’re close by to him.

Sort of an update.

This is a dealer near me that deals in the Chinese bikes, ATVs and scooters.
They have a very good reputation for customer service. I may go check it out.
