HAWK 250CC MSCO/TITLE problem?

I bought a Hawk from Red Fox Power Sports. They had two identical hawks on the website and unfortunately I clicked and bought the one that was listed as a dirt bike. It has a horn, turn signals, mirrors, brake lights and headlights JUST AS THE OTHER STREET LEGAL BIKE LISTED FOR SALE... and everything on it to be a legal street bike here in Mississippi I believe but I did not receive a MSO/Title or bill of sale and I'm pretty sure I will not be getting one in the mail. Reviewing the website AFTER I received the Hawk is says MSO: None.

SO, I'm assuming I could apply for the paperwork from Red Fox just like if I had purchased an ATV or something but can't get an answer from them.

The bike actually shipped from "CRT motor inc, Ricky"

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Free shipping on the $300 higher priced Hawk which doesn't come with the correct paperwork, and $279 shipping for the Street legal "version". Crap. That IS confusing. So you actually pay $30 less overall if you get the street legal version. Weird. It does mean you pay less sales tax for the street legal version. Again, weird, and confusing. Sucks. Talk about small print !!

But call your motor vehicle dept. They may allow you to have it inspected by State Tropper or something to get the State Paperwork completed and bypass RedFox. People do this with custom cars, trikes all the time.

Tell me about it. I feel stupid not paying attention but it seems like they set it up to trick me on purpose lol.

Well, Redfox did finally get back to me and now I get to fill out some form and possibly pay for the MSO and bill of sale. I'm fine with that I guess. We will go from there and keep this forum up to date. Wish me luck!

Picked up on their website: "DB-36 250cc Apollo Deluxe Dirt Bike with 5 Speed Manual Transmission DOT and CRAB Approved".

Gives you immediate confidence.

I hope things turn out well for you.

I'd request the MCO and Bill Of Sale. I think MS is like Louisiana so you should be able to get it registered and tagged.

I did request a MSO and notorized bill of sale today. They are supposedly mailing it out tomorrow.

JerryHawk250, I believe MS won't give me to many problems getting it on the road as well.

They will surprise you sometimes though...depends on which lady at the Tax office you get

Not sure if they have them in MS but I found if you go to one of the Notary/Tag places you will have less resistance. Those people are in business to make money so they will go out there way to make sure you get registered and tagged. I've owned 3 Chinese bikes and had all three registered and tagged in less than 15 minutes at my local Notary/Tag guy. The DMV wouldn't waste there time to help.

Unfortunately here in MS I believe it all has to be done through the Tax assessors office in your county of residence and sometimes you get a real by the book old lady in there that has something against china and fat guys with tattoos lol

I'm sure there are quiet a few Hawks registered in MS. The trick is to know what manufacture is was registered under. If you have that, then it makes it easy. Hopefully someone on here with one registered in MS chimes in.

Walk in with a fresh box of glazed donuts.....I suggest a dozen minimum. Worked for me before...... best 6 bucks you'll ever spend!

The MCO and Bill of Sale should arrive Monday. Here's to hoping it doesn't say DIRTBIKE.

Well, my MCO listing it as a DirtBike fear is over. The MCO actually says MOTORCYCLE.
Now on to the tax place once I have taxes in hand.

I went to the tax office today and had no issues!!!
The vin wouldn't come up in the system so the lady
manually entered everything. I am very happy. I've been thinking I may have purchased a paper weight.

So....to sum things up for somebody who might come
Across this thread and wonder if they can register their
Dirtbike version of the Hawk in Ms..... yes you can. My bike has no dot or NHTSA labels or tags on it from the factory....only the vin# stamped on it. It also will not appear on the NHTSA website if trying to decode the vin. The motorcycle didn't even come up in the computer at the tax office. The lady at the tax office manually entered all information after asking me the motorcycles color and then handed me a tag.

Liability insurance on the bike isn't going well....So far, State Farm can't pull the vin# up so they are kinda of just brushing me off it seems.
