Bought a Hawk 250 - Glad to be here!

Hi All,

Long time reader, first time poster.

First just want to say thank you to everyone that has contributed to this site. I did an unbelievable amount of research before pulling the trigger, and the information found here was very help before and after my purchase.

I bought a Hawk DLX about a month ago, and I just picked up my Georgia plate today. I've put nearly 200 miles on it so far, and it's the best 2k I've ever spent!

Welcome to here! Just read your review of the dealer (not a mail order dealer, either) and am happy to see you were treated well.

Welcome to the forum! I just moved back to Georgia from four years in Phoenix, AZ (also known as Hell on Earth). Look me up if you're ever down in the West Georgia area, we'll drag some bikes out and go for a ride.

I trimmed the fleet down some, but now I'm totally jonesing for another bike. I need to do some work on the DR first, though. I put a battery in it, and my buddy and I went out for a ride. I heard something go "click" and then the idle was stuck at 3,000. It rode fine, just wouldn't drop below 3,000 revs. I think the cable for the choke snapped and it's dumping way more fuel into the bang container than it should be. The downside is that because I have the huge 5.5 gallon tank on that beast, I have to break half the bike down to get to the carb.

Right now, the Ural is pushed back into a corner of the shop with a bunch of crap on top of it... Renovating a house sucks, and really cuts into my riding time. I told Mrs. E that this is the last time we go on an "adventure" like this...
