2021 Lifan KPV150 coming to the US

American Lifan posted on their facebook page that the KPV150 adventure scoot is coming later this year. Not sure if anyone else cares but I'm really excited about this bike. Liquid cooled EFI 150cc. I think this will fit a perfect niche where there aren't many options. I want something a bit nicer and more powerful than my Tao 150 but I don't want a big cruiser style scooter. I haven't seen a price yet but I plan on getting one as soon as a dealer gets them in.

COOL!

I saw this on LifanMotos.net last night!

Yeah..I'm REALLY digging it and it may just become number 2 on my list (Kymco AK550 is number 1...I know..not the same thing, but that Kymco ROCKS).

Lifan makes quality bikes, cars, etc... Can't go wrong with them.

I'm keeping an eye out.

Looking at lifanmotos.net site, I see 9.0 kw (12hp) and 93 kph top speed. The top speed is a little low considering most Chinese 150cc scooters are reaching around that. I know my TGB 151cc delivery scooter could hit around 58 to 60 mph, and it was rated at 10 hp. I think the Lifan is a great looking scooter and I like the idea of liquid-cooling and fuel-injection on a scooter, but when I used a downtown L.A. restaurant's SMax at a side job I had a couple years ago, that thing could hit an indicated 78 mph. I actually wouldn't mind having the Lifan scooter as an around town bike, so I wouldn't mind if it really couldn't hit 60, but it seems a little tame as far as the specs go. Then again, it is a different scooter made for 'offroad-ish' uses.

Thanks for posting the little ADV. There are still a few of us scooter geeks on the forum.

More than a few, I hope! I'm a Kymco guy...but I love all scooters.

I wonder about the speed. It seems Lifan usually underestimates top speed whereas most of the cheap Chinese bikes do the opposite. My Tao 150 says it's going 75 when it's actually barely doing 50 so who knows? I just got an X-Pect and the quality is fantastic so I expect nothing less from this scooter.

I wonder how much under seat storage it has?

I haven't seen any info online about it.

I emailed American Lifan for availability/pricing. Got a canned message stating someone will get back with me.

Opps! Spoke to soon...saw American Lifan finally responded.

They stated to keep an eye on their FB page for availability/pricing.

I guess we'll see...

I know it is designed for a different use, but I do prefer the flat floor scooters for the utility of them. When I rode the Honda Metropolitan 50 or the Yamaha SMax for the downtown L.A. restaurant I worked a side job at a couple years ago, both had flat floors (they were bought for that reason). My TGB delivery scooter has a flat floor, even though it has a large delivery container built in, and I have used the flat floor a couple times.

They were actually really quick to reply to me, I was impressed and they told me to expect it to be around $2500 MSRP. So I'd expect the final price to be closer to $2000.

I also just watched this video where he shows the storage. Pretty good looking!

I do like the flat floor for hauling stuff too. I've had some ridiculous stuff on my scooter but I think this one will be much more stable/rigid and more comfortable, especially for adventure riding.

I love the useful cargo space provided by the flat floor, but I would be willing to give that up for a 10mph increase in top speed.

A couple times in the summer, the ice machine went down, so the manager sent me on the scooter to get 6 20lb bags of ice on the SMAX. Yeah, not the best idea and kind of like those viral photos of people in Asia with 40 pigs piled up on their scooter along with 5 family members, but I made it the couple of miles in sloooow traffic (I didn't dare lane split) from the store to the restaurant with the ice practically in my lap

I am getting my TGB back on the road, possibly for side income here in Yuma since we have a few of the national delivery apps like Doordash, but for a new vehicle to possibly tackle the sand in some parts of Yuma, the KPV looks intriguing. My concern is the top speed considering my commute is on 50-55mph roads (some of it the traffic actually travels at that speed) where traffic is traveling at 65-70mph (on a few long stretches) due to lack of law enforcement making people accountable.

I know, I know, we discuss top speed and how we shouldn't be obsessed with it, but with me commuting in cross-border traffic, the drivers are a bit unpredictable, so I would prefer at least 65.

Hello,

Bumping this thread to find out if anyone has actually purchased a KPV150 and their thoughts. I once owned a Yamaha SMax which was a great scooter and was hoping this would be a fitting replacement if reviews were good.

Thanks in advance - Joe.
