Got my 6 speed TempX in! I greased every bearing I could find and put blue threadlocker on most the bolts. I couldn't find any torque specs, so I just used common values from other bikes. I changed the oil, ran it for 20 min, then changed it again. Just got my spoke torque wrench in, so I need to check the spokes. I plan on riding it around a bit and see how it performs before I jet the carb. I have a few issues that I need help/advice with. First, the wheel bearings on the front and rear wheels are very stiff. I mean, I can get them to turn, but it takes a lot. Are stiff bearings normal? I'm hoping that they will loosen up after riding a bit. I am also hearing a ticking/tapping noise coming from the engine. Could it be loose valves? I plan on checking the clearance tonight, but I have no idea what it should be? Any suggestions on valve clearance values? Thanks

I dont have any spinning issues for the front wheel.. For the rear wheel i also found it to be sticking on the brake. The remedy as advised in this thread is to install a big washer on the inside of the wheel assembly right after the brake and against the inside of the right swingarm edge. There is a pic i posted in my thread for it.. As far as the valves i have read that .002 is the spec Henner suggests but that is quite close. I adjusted mine at .004 for now and im sure it will get tight sooner rather than later buying me some time for the next one.

Good idea to check Valve Clearance especially having tapping noises. My 5 speed TemplarX & Spare motor came with Valves adjusted correctly but it's recommended to adjust correctly in the assembly instructions. Over my first 1100 miles ( checking every 300 miles) I've adjusted mine 4 times. Exhaust had tighten up each time. I'm using .06 & .07mm.

Interesting but the motor has smoothed out some. I can definitely notice less vibration below 6k RPM. Probably a sign somethings about to break because I give this thing heck.

I set mine to 0.005 in. exhaust and 0.003 in. Intake. ♂️ Is this too loose?

I think valves can only tighten with time so if they are set alittle loose (mine are at .004) it will probably only be a few months before they wind up at the recommended .002

Has anyone removed the header and muffler yet on the Templar? Is the cat in the header at the bulge or in the muffler? Would be nice to uncork it for some extra power

Mine only came with a general usage guide. Where can we find the assembly/maintenance specs documents?

To answer my own question, it looks like the bulge at the header section is indeed the cat.. i ran a sink snake from the muffler until i couldnt feed anymore and it came to the beginning of that bulge section

This makes perfect sense. It is an EPA certified bike. The best solution would be adding a "chamber" like you see on new 4 strokes just above the cat placement. I can't do it! I do have a tombstone welder, and a MIG welder, but haven't ventured into Stainless steel.

I'm wondering if any Ebay/Amazon exhausts fit on this bike. I looked at the Stoneman exhaust i have on the Brozz and it looks close but not exactly the same bends

Yeah, I've been looking for a way around having the cat in the exhaust. My Orion RXB with the same engine has more top end power in good shape but the exhaust pipe has a different bend to it so can't use that. The cat does make it quieter though.
