Went on a 150 mile ride yesterday. I'm really impressed with how comfortable this bike is. Also got 75 mpg with a mix of 40, 45, 50 and 60 mph roads (only about 10 miles of 60 mph). The suspension feels great and it is softer than it was. Nothing fell off.

Tried putting a 14 tooth front sprocket this morning, but 108 link chain is too short. From playing around with gears and engine speed, I think a 14 tooth would be good for the faster highways, and there's plenty of torque. May have to use 5 th on steeper hills, but I've had plenty of cars and trucks that would not pull top gear on big hills or head winds.

I'd like a windshield on it, I got a yellow jacket (wasp) in my ear about 15 miles into the ride, and was still a good ride.

Mine has a 14 tooth front with the stock 108-link chain. Only 100 miles on the chain, so it hasn't even stretched much. I ordered a new O-ring chain, also 108 link, and have a 39 tooth sprocket still to put on for the rear, which will give me a little more slack for the chain adjustment.

Read my writeup in my KPX thread of how I got the 14-tooth and chain on the bike. Post #35 in this thread:

Yep, that worked. Thank you. I'll check it out on the highway tomorrow.

Here's an oil change video. Notice how much trash the oil filter caught that got passed the oil scree. Lifan make a quality product.

Ran out of time today so no valve adjustment video yet.

Yeah, mine was similar. I'm curious to see how much more I will have on my new Wix pleated-paper filter. Will post a pic when I next take a look at it. My KPX still has only 100 miles on it. I am using the remaining nice-weather days to do stuff to my house exterior, usually involving painting.

@JerryHawk250, your bike is so clean! Maybe you can do a video on how you keep it so clean and polished. My oil filter looked about the same after 4 miles when I changed the oil, filter, and installed a magnetic drain plug. I did the second oil change at 600 miles, the filter looked pretty good and there were minimal metal fragments on the magnetic drain plug. I forgot about the oil screen and will check that at next oil change.

Yesterday I hit 840 miles. The O Ring chain I installed at 7 miles still doesn't need adjustment. Yesterdays ride was 138 miles in the mountains with about 36 miles of forest service dirt roads. I don't have anything to compare it to, but the suspension and tires worked pretty well in everything from sand to gravel. No sign of oil burning or leaks.

The only thing I would like to improve would be to have a little more fork stiffness. During moderate to hard breaking, the front end dives quite a bit. Would replacing the fork oil with a heavier weight make a difference? Another idea I heard about is to replace fork top end bolts (?) with bleeder valves then using nitrogen or an airpump to to tune the fork preload. Has anyone done this before?

You can also add preload to the fork springs with a couple of short pieces of PVC. Never done this, so you will have to research ti yourself. Heavier fork oil will help too.

It's only clean because I had just washed it. Can't make a video with a dirty bike. lol

Hey guys just wanted to give you all an update on the rear wheel/muffler clearance issue.
1. I talked to venom and they contacted lifan on my behalf and I was sent a new tire and spacer kit free of charge. (Venom rocks!)
2. I suggested to venom they include the spacer kit on future kpx’s sent out, and they agreed so hopefully this problem is a thing of the past!

All you need to do is measure the length of the brake lines. There tons of places to buy SS brake lines. Banjo fitting are universal. https://www.amazon.com/400-2400mm-Mo...8-7-spons&th=1
Also universal brake lever sets will fit as well. I've installed them of a couple of bikes. https://www.amazon.com/Sporacingrts-...44&sr=8-7&th=1

As far as forks I'm not sure what you want to upgrade.

Never having done it before, how do I replace the fork oil in the KPX with something heavier and what would you recommend? Does anyone else feel like they get too much front end dive when braking hard?

I haven't done mine yet but the best thing to do is to loosen the caps before removing the forks, dump out the oil into a measuring container so you will know how much to put back in. Any 10w fork oil will probably be much better than what comes in these bikes.
