I noticed yesterday that the 2016 Hawk I bought yesterday had Japan on the carb, and after noticing today that it looked a little different, and had 4 screws holding the bowl on, I came to the conclusion that it's probably a VM26. It actually has Mikuni on it, but probably a clone. Did the 2016 Hawks have these carbs as stock? It has a decal on the engine case with some tuning specs, and something about being for off road only. I notice some differences between the regular (non DLX) Hawks like some on black wheels, and some chrome, but they seem to have not changed much, but I'm figure there are little changes from tear to year.

4 bowl screws with a flanged mount is a vm26 clone. That was the upgrade to make in the early Hawk days, and still one of my faves. Mine also said "Japan" on it, but we all know that's a lie lol.
The chrome wheels were the original Hawks and sometime in 2016 they started to get black ones. 2017 onward they only came in black. The turn signal beeper being the only other real change right around the same time. 2017 to now the RPS Hawk really hasn't changed.

Yeah, it was 1 above zero just a while ago. I thought about slipping down to the creek for a little skinny dipping, but I can't afford anymore "shrinkage", because I I would hate for the woman to kick me out in this weather. LOL
