Venom ghost trouble starting

I've got 80 miles on my Ghost and the other day I went to take off and I killed it so I put it back in neutral and tried starting it. It wouldn't start sometimes it acted like the battery was dying then I finally got it going and was fine. Then yesterday I rode it somewhere and was only in there a few minutes and came out and it did the same thing. But everything I go out and start it to go somewhere it fires right up. Any ideas?
Thanks

Check that you have good battery and ground connections. Sounds like the battery is not fully charged or bad connection.

Also Have you adjusted the valves yet? The valves come set with little to no gap. If there is not enough clearance on the valve gap the valves will not seat properly once hot and you will loose compression which will make it hard to start. Once it cools off and the valves seat it will start easy.

Have not checked valves. I'm not sure I'm comfortable enough to do that. I might have to get some help on that one. Thanks for your help

It fairly simple. Get your hands on a Honda CRF230F service manual. It will give you step by step instructions or search Valve adjustment for the CRF230F on You Tube. You'll find lots of videos on how to.

Get someone to help you the first time. With chinese bikes, you really need to learn how to maintain them. There's just not a lot of dealers around to support you. Having said that, I'd bet that any shop could do a valve check as long as they know the gaps.

So does that work with the motor being the same as the Honda? Do they just build the motors to the Honda specs or do they buy the motors from Honda?

The engine specs are the same. Engines are almost identical except that the CRF230F is 6 speed.

Neither really. They are clones, so a lot of things are the same, but legally they can't build them exactly the same, so some parts will work, and others won't when swapping between them.

What is the same is the basic architecture and design, which is why the crf230 manuals more or less provide a good basic guide for service related stuff.

Here is a video on adjusting the valves on a Honda CRF230F.

Of course removing the tank if needed is different on a Chinese bike.
