Hey all . What is minimum needed for this to run ? Just the coil bolted to the engine ? I'm not worried about lights or e-start . Any help appreciated .

You will need a cdi and voltage regulator. You have to figure out if you had an ac or dc system in order to get the correct cbi.

That is probably an AC CDI unit (the smaller type). If the whole thing was intact on a bike with a working battery, the simple test is to check if the CDI unit is powered 12V when you turn the key on. That won't work here, but the DC units are bigger. Pretty sure it can't be DC.

That wiring harness has a voltage regulator (the black thing with fins), so you need some sort of battery to accept the charge. A small 12V battery should be fine. I am sure that you will have plenty of power to run lights. It's already baked into the system.
