If you want to do it cheap my suggestion repair it with a little bit of J.B.Weld for a couple of dollars and only a day lost.

I was also going to suggest the redneck glue.

They say duct tape is the handymans friend.I think j b weld should be in every mechanics tool box.I carry it on my 18 wheeler and cant remember all the things i have fixed with it.I've known people (rednecks mostly)who have repaired cracked engine bloks with it.J.B. Quik sets in just a few minutes for repairs that dont get over about 300 degrees if i remember correctly.Great stuff for quick repairs.

I gotta get the quick set. Mine's the 24 hour wait JB Weld.

Are they the same strength or is the slow set stronger, like epoxy?

I think the slow is better for something requiring a stronger repair.

I keep a set of the kwik handy for these types situations.

The lug sticking out of the fork leg is for locating the speedo drive, there might (or might not) be a matching recess on the drive. My Hongdou has the same lug but there's no recess on the drive, or the "up" arrow.

Jonathan.

Maybe we could add some of the products to a tips and tricks page. Info like this is vital to a new rider, more so a chinarider. I've read, "what is loctite," (I might have wrote it when I got here  )

I don't know why, but I like trying to help those who are, new to riding.

How about a pill bottle watertight and sealed and containing all the little trinkets that keep our chinese bikes from being stranded in God's country somewhere. Then wrap the bottle with black tape and hundred-mile-an-hour tape. You could even precut a few drinking straws to put in there as well ..And some cyanoacrylate, J-B Kwick, and Duco Cement (one of my favorites)

If you are really clever you could use an extra muffler clamp to secure the bottle somewhere on the bike!

I used to fly scale sailplanes in the Bay Area northern cal. I had all kinds of little get out of trouble kits

See you on the tundra,
