Friends Bike On the Fritz

Hi, I am an ex china rider. I sold my Lifan to a friend a while back. He has had nothing but problems with it and I kind of feel bad. I got rid of it for a more trusty name brand bike but now I have to be his personal mechanic everytime we go riding and end up towing him home for one reason or another.

His latest trouble is the bike pooped out while riding and we were unable to kick it. The light usually lights up while he kicks it but this time its not even getting power to the light. The bike is not getting spark and I think it could be in one of the switches either the kill switch or the key.

How should I diagnose it?

I had that sort of problem once, and Im not sure how I fixed it......I turned the screw on the carb.I think the fuel mixture screw or something until the fuel started to pour out the overflow tube under the engine.I lost about half the fuel...then I put some more gas in it and took it to a fairly big hill and rode it down pushing the starter about half way down the hill and it started and I never had the prob again.except for when I forget to turn the gas valve on or put the kill in the off position.lol....not sure if I helped it or if I was just lucky.but I would say drain the gas and put fresh stuff in or maybe try some kind of a jump start...sorry man I am a pretty crappy mechanic!

I don't know if it would be the key, because my LF200gy-5 will kick off without the key(don't tell anybody lol) as long as it's in the run position on the kill switch.
