Bits in the oil, Again!

When I arrived home from work this morning I decided to change the oil as it had been in nearly 2000km. What do I find? Redish brown rubber flakes on the strainer. It's not the crush drive again as the rubbers are black. If I remember correctly the timing chain tensioner blades were black as well. To be honest I can't be bothered with it, I have house repairs to get on with, and a semi classic motor car that wants attention.

Jonathan.

Two good things about that:

The strainer is doing its job.

The particles aren't ferrous.

I think it was sold to you guys in the States, it's a 1988 Renault 11 TXE, that's the top model with manual transmission.

As for the rubber bits I'm tempted just to ride it and see what happens.

Jonathan.

Hmmm, well it "could" be seal material, or, it might be something coming from the carb manifold. Sure its not black plastic and not black rubber?

It's definitly rubber, the bits are big enough to feel between your finger ends. It's the dark drown colour that's got me, all the rubber components in the motor are black. The only thing it could be is the valve stem oil seals but I can't see any curvature to the flakes.
