Maxfine 200 sprockets?

I have a 2005 Maxfine 200.

Here's a link to a bike that looks 99% like mine.

http://www.deargabby.com/bikes/maxfine/

Seat is 2 tone & there is a yellow reflector on the front plastic which mine doesn't have. Otherwise looks exactly like mine which I bought on Ebay from Patterson's which is now defunct.

Anyway I'd like to change the sprockets so it will do better than 45-50 mph @7000 rpm. Currently it has a 51 tooth rear and a 17 tooth front.

I read another thread (started by Andi in 07) where member "RD" set his up so that all he had to do was change the front sprocket to go from offroad to highway quickly, which is exactly what I'd like to do.

I'm thinking change the rear to a 41 tooth and getting a 14 tooth front. Then I'd have the capability of 2 (quick & easy change) setups:

41R/17F - for highway
41R/14F - for off-road

I'm just not sure what bike mine is a clone of & where to start to get the new sprockets. I do have the sprockets off for measuring, tracing whatever if that would help.

I can go to http://www.pmpsprockets.com to have a rear custom made, not sure about the front. But the cost is of course more than buying off the shelf somewhere.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. :?:

I believe that you should have the standard china bike sprockets so look up sprockets for a cb125 or xl185 honda. about 1980 vintage.

There is also a link in the parts sticky.

Get a new chain while you are at it.

Standard Lifanoid. I find 17/45 to work well for most conditions. If you go with big knobbies, maybe more like a 17/50.

I recommend a 45 also. I have a 42 and it is a bit too tall.

I remember Patterson's Powersports! They rebadged the MAxfine bikes as their own when you could still do that kind of stuff easily. AZ200--you should consider this one--I don't think that they are too far from you if my geography is correct!

Wow, Thanks for all the quick replies, especially since I somehow posted this in the wrong forum.

If I use the honda xl185 as my equivalent model on Denniskirk.com I come up with Parts Unlimited sprockets that look almost like mine with the riveted ring on the face of it. I'd take a chance and order but they don't have anything less than 49 tooth at $31.95.

I'd settle for a 44 or 45 (as opposed to the 42 I was hoping to find).
Where are you guys buying them?

I also order a 45 from www.motorcyclesuperstore.com

Bruce is faster.

possibly?

judging by the engine covers and the look of the drive train, i do believe its the same as the Zong 200- - Yamaha TW200 Clone engine (nothing else on the bike indicates similarity though, haha)

im going to look more into it, but hopefully this helps
