Howdy from Chengdu, China

Howdy folks,

I don't have a Chinese bike yet, but I do live in China. Chengdu to be precise.

I am considering buying a motorcycle here and due to trade limitations, economic factors..Chinese bikes seems to be my only choice.

I am considering a Global Strong Model GSC-300 Raptor with a 350cc engine.

Here is the link....

http://gsvehicle.en.alibaba.com/prod...d_Engine_.html

anyone know anything about this company, this bike? Good or bad, I'd like to hear it. It is almost impossible to find out anything about a mfg here. Most mfg's make bikes (and other stuff) under 10 - 50 different brand names. Some even compete with themselves??

Appreciate the help!
Larry

Welcome. Never seen that bike before. Is it available on the street in China?

I don't know if it is available in China yet. You can find tons of info on mfg's, but no info on dealers. Even the mfg name won't clue you into who to look for that sells it because the mfg's will put any brand name you want on it. Call it any name you want, sell it under any brand name you want. The mfg's don't care as long as you keep ordering.

Right now, I am looking for any info on the mfg. Global Strong Vehicle Company Limited.

Join mychinamoto.com as well. There are several members there who live in China and have gotten hold of bikes, and could steer you in the right direction. The Regal is from the manufacturer of the Johnny Pag brand. Welcome to here!

Yes, sorry, I wasn't trying to send him away  , but since I participate, have fun, waste people's time, etc. on both forums, I know that his particular question can be answered on mychinamoto, while he can get all the repair advice he needs, here on chinariders. Both sites definitely have their niche, and chinariders is the granddaddy of Chinese bikes' sites (Most of the other ones are not in English, so are difficult to read, ), and is a natural fit for most anyone into Chinese bikes.

Yes, Carl over at ChinaMoto was a big help. Led me right to the dealer. It is actually a Lifeng product; brand name Regal Raptor. It is a nice bike. good quality, nice welds, fit and finish are excellent. The model I am looking at is the 350cc. Will probably be ordering one early next year as riding weather here is about over for the winter. I'm old..I only ride in nice weather...

I will also be looking at other bikes to see if I can top this...I'm a cruiser/chopper rider..the size of the motor matters, but riding comfortable matters more. I also want my wife to be comfortable on the back.

I'm sure I will stick around both forums. I need all the info I can get on dealers, parts, and maintenance.

If anyone has links to Chinese made/sold choppers, I'd appreciate a link...

The Regal Raptor is sold in the US under the Johnny Pag brand name. They might have some custom bikes' parts, but it would be weird having parts for a Chinese-made bike sent to China from the US
