Run with the $5 option mate - I can't do anything with that for you n make a buck.
But if you are talking $160 I know I can solve the issue much cheaper and make a few buck for all the time n effort it would take to make the solution.

Hey weld... I have tried cutting an inch or 2 out of the cable and the problem I run into with doing this is underneath the vinyl housing there is a metal shield covering another layer of plastic tubing that the cable goes through.. it's hard to cut through that metal shield without nicking or cutting through the cable... I have even used a pipe cutter but that is bad to because it will cut through the cable... and even it I wass to cut through the vinyl and shield... I wold have to slit it so I could slide it off the cable.. A real pain...

NZ... I did order the $5 cable but it will take a while to get here... so I went to Amazon and ordered theirs too... at this point I am worried if it's an 8mm adjuster on it... but if it's not... I'll send the old one to you and see what you can do with it... or send you the measurements on it... basically you already know what I need... It really should not be this hard to find this... just a 4.5 to a 4.7 travel play... but I do have some new cables here.. lol

How stupid is that!

That’s AliExpress and they can’t sell to me, trying to get this for the poster and see if we can hurry things along

I can’t actually find the same cable - either a bit shorter or longer
Best might be new throttle part with switches and cable then test fit to a PZ30 pumper carb I got

Doh!

Hi All... I just got 2 more cables in and neither one will fit.. they both have 10mm screw in adjusters... I need the 8mm.... one was from XLJoy and not sure where the other one came from... I have ordered so many.. I'll throw them in my box of collections... I am thinking of a pull string at this time... NZ.. work your magic for me... I believe I do have 1 more coming from AliExpress and that is likely to be wrong... lol... I mean.. How hard is it to get a throttle cable??? with an 8mm screw in adjuster.. I don't want to rebuild my bike around a cable... I want to keep this stock...Can't anyone make one anymore?? it's a simple cable... nothing made of gold... or fancy.. Geeze...

NZ.. AliExpress won't sell to you?? Now that is stupid... they sold a cable to me... and it came from china... arrived in the states after 2 weeks.... went to customs... went to New york... then left there and went to Connecticut... left Connecticut lets see where it goes from there... Remembver.. I am in Virginia... LOL

My wife said she can do a craft project with all my cables now.....

ok.. I believe I have found a solution to my throttle cable problem... I brought my switch assembly down to the machine shop for them to drill out the 8mm screw in and to thread this to a 10mm screw in.. this way I can keep the bike stock and still be able to use my switch assembly.. then all I will need to do is use any of my throttle cables with the 10mm adjusters.. that's all I can think of to do at the point besides changing everything over... because I don't have that room on my handlebars...

So now you think of that? Sounds like a good plan.

LOL Jerry... well you know how us old guys are.. we forget more than we remember... LOL anyways .. I got the switch assembly back and hooked everything to the carb.. and it works great... so tomorrow I will put it back on my bike and see how it does.. I now have a 10mm adjuster screwed into my switch assembly... I'll let you know how it does... Thanks to NZ.. he made me stop and think about drilling it out and threading to a 10mm...

NZ.. when you get a chance, PM me.. thanks....

The drill and tap is definitely one way to go about it.

Just for future reference for other guys, you could also easily get yourself a Venhill throttle cable kit and use the original adjuster end in the housing. It does require soldering the cable end for the barrel. but there are great tutorials online and all it really takes is a butane torch, a nail, and a bit of solder.

The kit is usually around $17 and is cut to size. Components are very good quality.

Hey all... ok... you know I had my electrical assembly drill out to a 10mm to match the throttle cable adjuster... took my bike out and worked on it today... put the throttle cable on the assembly and hooked it uyp to my throttle grip.. put the carb back on the intake and fastened it down... and I did lube the hand-grip and the cable... started it up and she runs great... the action of the cable and grip is very smooth... so I put all the plastics back on it and took for a short ride... very nice.. smooth... I don't know why I didn't think about this back in September when it broke... I guess I am forgetting how to fabricate things here... old age I guess... I was so affixed on the 8mm and the 10mm I wasn't thinking how to make the 10mm work with my set up.. So the cables from XLJoy and AliExpress worked the way it is suppose to work the correct setup... Just wanted to give you all an update on the situation I HAD !!! Now to get it ready for the winter time... already snowed here once...

NZ... Have not forgot about you... still make your magic for me for future spares and problem solving...

Thanks all... I appreciate all your help and suggestions... because of all you guys is why we can keep riding ...

Glad to hear you got it up and running. I thought I was going to get some ride time in over the weekend but the weather didn't cooperate. Too cold and windy. It wouldn't be so bad if the sun would of came out.

That was the way I was thinking and another member suggested a similar way

I only found the throttle/electrical switch parts correct just like yours and a 10mm hole so would make your new/old wrong cables right - yoiu should have a bunch of correct cables now!
