Throttle Cable.....

Does anyone know where I can buy a throttle cable that will actually work on my Roketa??? I have bought 3 cables so far and none will work... The fitting that screws into the assembly is too large... they send me a 10mm to fit into a 8mm.. and way too short... mine is a 40" and they send me a 32"...

So I need a 40" with a 8mm screw in end..

Thanks

David

Maybe I can but shipping not cheap
Better off with new throttle part n common cable that matches to both that and carb

I make my own from bicycle shift cables. Used to be that motorcycle shops carried everything needed to make cables.

Doh!

I have called and went down to all the motorcycle shops... no luck... I have called bicycle shops... no luck.. I have tried internet stores... no luck...

Geeze... all I need is just a simple cable... 42.5 inches long from end to end... with a 4.7 travel play... and an 8mm adjuster... what's so hard about that???

Roketa has one... but it's too short... there is no travel play... so when attached... it is wot... anyone has suggestions?? I have been thinking of making my own ....

Thanks HellKitty... I'll call them and ask them if the end adjuster is an 8mm..
does anyone know or have ever made cables in the past and would be interested in making me up a couple of them?? Of course I will pay you for it... just let me know.. or if you find a site that has the cables for me to order... Roketa has all wrong cables... either too short or it has a 10mm adjuster... I have a collection of wrong parts from them...

Thanks

David

Is your old housing and adjusters good or would it be possible to make the proper sized housing from your new wrong parts ? If so snip off the carb end of the inner cable ,pull the inner completely out ,find a bicycle cable that is longer with the correct hand throttle fitting ,push it through ,Beatrice cycle does sell cable ends you can use ,my dad a million years ago taught me to make lead soldiers so I just make a mould out of a piece of scrap wood and pour my own new end .I have done them like that since 1976 withought any issues .

The ball is missing off mine that connects to the throttle... so I can pull it all the way through the vinyl... all of mine needs to be replacing including the vinyl housing... my adjuster is fine... I have a new adjuster that came one a cable that Roketa sent me... Cable too short... all the parts that came in where wrong length... way too short to re-use.. I don't understand why Roketa can not send me the correct cable???

Been trying since September to get another throttle cable... there's got to be a place or someone that has a cable... I can't get any cables at the bike shops here because they only have pre-made cables... and I need to order them...

Go to a store like Dicks or Wallmart and look for a universal brake cable that has the correct hand throttle side fitting .
Anyways ,Dr Atv sells individual components to build complete cables ,many bike shops do as well if they build custom bikes ,I used to have a proper kit for building cables ,I let somebody use it at a race many years ago and it never was returned .It was a motion pro kit if I am remembering correctly .I think Dennis Kirk sells that kit and cable parts as well .

Speaking of Motion Pro

I've had Motion Pro make me up a few rare cables I couldn't find anymore... have you checked with them yet?

Azhule... yea.. I am going to call them on Monday... I am also searching through Dr. ATV which I see a few that are interesting... 48" and cut to my own liking... solder just one end on... and I can use my own 8mm adjuster... cut to the right length... all is already made together....

I went to Walmart last night and what do you know.... No bicycle brake cables... no repair kits,,,, I went to the fishing and looked at the fishing line weights.... various sizes.... went to the picture section and looked at the cables ... 30 lb.... I'll go to Dick's today... see what I can find... the only thing that concerns me with the bicycle brake lines is the vinyl housing next to the motor... getting alot of heat....

Will this 46" work?

https://smile.amazon.com/Throttle-Wh...throttle+cable

44"

https://smile.amazon.com/Throttle-Ca...throttle+cable

38" getting closer

https://smile.amazon.com/Throttle-Ca...throttle+cable

I searched "Chinese throttle cable" and " Roketa throttle cable" on Amazon. There are tons of others but not all list the length.

Edit; Check out this one from another site;

Got a cable kit from Dick's.. put all this together and what happens??? The end to that goes through the top of the carb would not fit through the PZ30...

The problem I have been having is the adjusting screw on mine is an 8mm thread... the ones I have ordered is 10mm threads... Roketa sent me both... but their 8mm thead cable was too short... the cable was 34" when connected it all together it was wot... no slack at all... so I am going to call a few places tomorrow including Roketa parts to find out why I can't get a simple throttle cable for my bike... it's been down since September... was thinking of making a pull string... lol
