Looks good but Yoshimura stuff is really pricey ,emphasis on the really . I just dont think there would be enough improvement over a Mikuni etc to even begin to justify the cost difference on a 250 or smaller China Bike.

I just cant see putting a $500 carb on a $1000 motorcycle, but thats just me. You can get a complete Mikuni Kit for under $50.,that includes new intake, carb, jets, and K&N style filter.

It's not meant for our motorcycles Also its not a commercial post.
It is just information of a very interesting design of a carburetor, like a tech-talk.

They basically took the emulsion tube and turned it into the needle.

It's a neat twist on the carburetor, but I can see a few potential issues with it.

For one, I would love to see how one tunes it for altitude changes, mods, etc. Does it still use a main jet?

Once that tube/slide starts to wear fuel will seep past the lower portion and be drawn into the engine, leading to a rich condition. Needles and needle jets do wear as well, but it's very rare since a majority of the needle makes no contact with the needle jet itself.

While it can also be true for the emulsion holes in a traditional carburetor, the holes on that slide tube are of varying sizes, and the tiny ones at the top would clog extremely easily. Adding on to that, the number and size of holes would have to be tailored to each particular engine, and possibly changed if any major modifications were done, such as bigger bores, camshafts, etc.

Again, it is a neat variation on the standard carburetor, and I would love nothing more than to learn about them in greater detail, but the design of slide carbs has changed very little over several decades for a reason. As far as I can see, the only possible advantage over a standard carb would be better fuel atomization.

From what Iv'e seen there is something about the design of a lectron that makes it automatically adjust for altittude, or perhaps just immuned to it.
