Many of my friends actually comment that I seem to be something akin to a Muse for getting them working on their projects. Truth is, I don't really drink or go to bars, and my body is too messed up to do some sort of sport for a hobby. I'm not really into watching sports on TV. So this is my equivalent of a few beers after work, or fantasy football, etc. I blow all of my extra time and money on my bikes and my truck.

LOL I had a good laugh after. I was like, I hope nobody saw that I'll make damn sure I have the fire extinguisher out side the shed next time I'm welding. Gave me a chance to see if the extinguisher worked. lol

I can relate. I'm not a sports guy and health issues keep me from participating in strenuous activities. It's actually a project I have toyed with and will do some of it, but probably not hotrod the engine. Exhaust and intake mods at most. |

That sounds exactly like my Goldwing. The efi isnt for performance at all. None of the planned engine work is either. Higher output stator, new metal impeller water pump, new timing belts with updated tensioners. It is all in a quest to modernize the bike without really changing its personality.

I managed to get home for a day, but since I don't have my burrs in yet I decided to start with the comvbstion chamber.
I sanded down the machinist ridge around the valve seats, and blended them into the chamber. I also tried to smooth out the other ridges in the chamber. I definitely increased the chamber size a tiny bit, but I will mill the head a little more to compensate. The amount of area opened up around the valve at lower lift and the smoother airflow path should make a good difference. Thise was all by hand, no power tools. Finished with 1500 grit for now. I will wait on the final polish until i get the reat of the head done. The pictures don't do this justice. A lot more was removed than it seems. The first picture shows the ridge around the exhaust valve still in place for comparison.
