Do you have a web link for the Gerbings battery? How big is that thing?

Andy couldn't believe it so I sent him to You Tube.
He may start carrying them in his motorcycle shop.

I think this is it. You wear it like a kidney belt.

Or it replaces an armor pad in the back of your jacket.

Antigravity makes good products. That Gerbings battery 'belt' looks cumbersome. I think the Micro-Start was a better choice.

I think so to. Plus the Gerbing won't start my truck or an electric start only motorcycle :-)
As a general rule in heated motorcycle clothing, Gerbing is the best but does tend to be pricey, although other brands are more, sometimes much more. Plus Gerbing is designed and is based in Washington State. Word has it Washingtonians know something about riding in the cold LOL!

If I can find, or fabricate some kind of protective kevlar pouch, I am considering using the lithium polymer battery packs employed by RC hobby fans.

With a name like 'Zappy' don't keep it in your front jeans pocket.
Just sayin'

Quote:
It's Zippy, not Zappy. The battery pack for my Milwaukee jacket is located over the left kidney. The pack resides inside a zipped pocket. I also always wear my rain jacket over the heated jacket. If I reinforce the Zippy battery pack with some plastic, duct tape, or a kevlar pouch, I don't think I will have any problems. The Zippy battery pack uses lithium cobalt technology, just like your Micro-Start device.

Zippy better than Zappy.
Ask any urologist.
