$156.50 Hawk renewal?

I just got the DMV post card to renew my plates. $156 to renew? That's crazy! It costs $30 less to renew a 2006 Honda Civic and $71 for a 70's Ford pickup. Is this just Utah or is this ridiculous price everywhere? Surely someone who's had a Hawk for a year can chime in. I'm thinking it's time to trailer it when I go trailing and riding illegally when I need a backup vehicle.

$156... That is crazy. That is 10% of the value of a new bike.

VT is $48 for 1 year or $96 for 2 years.

I would begrudgingly pay that renewal to save the hassle of trailering the bike everywhere, but that is just me. Does seem about twice as expensive as it should be, however, and even half of that for a used Hawk's renewal does seem expensive. We don't have too many Utah members with Hawks (at least not active), but hopefully we will hear from them. Try to go in person and get the word directly from your DMV.

1979 F150 in Kansas is $17. My 2010 Yukon is $450. Haven't tagged a bike, but I would guess about $100 for a Hawk in Kansas.

I'm in upstate NY, my initial plating and registration for the TT was over 100, but my renewal for my cbr 600 and my tt are both around 20 bucks, seems outlandish just for a renewal. Are they giving you new plates or just renewing registration?

Wasn't part of your new TT's reg costs sales tax and title fee? I live in NY state, and the ridiculous title fees in this state has really slowed down my transportation buying habits....ARH

Yes I believe it was actually.. well over 200$ now that I am remembering better. And get this they FORCED me to pay tax on the Shipping cost from CSC and not just the bike cost. I couldn't believe it.

Ouch! WA-state is $48 per year... same as a car... which chapps me since riding season here on the east-side is not year-round. Guess I need to be more thankful...

Cheers!

What would that entail? Wouldn't I need an Idaho address?

To answer the other question, no I'm not getting new plates, just renewing.

North Dakota is $25. It comes to a little over $100 with insurance.
