Needs a starter solenoid (Relay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relay aka "magnetic s/w" by some guys ) cuz most s/w can't handle that HUGE current...

Should I get a different relay? Because it seems impossible to find the right switch for this particular relay http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2218456...035966&lpid=82<-- This is the relay that i have. I could replace it with another relay just give me a link, thanks

I researched a bunch and I understand, my plan is to cut the old terminals off and crimp new ones on that will fit this switch http://www.parts-express.com/momenta...m_campaign=pla does this all sound good?

Or could I just not even use a starter solenoid and buy a switch that could handle the amps that the positive battery lead and starter wire produce?

Monarch hydraulics #03416. Is the switch I have .Its used for a hydraulic tailgate on the back of a 5 ton truck so a truck shop should be able to find you one .No relay required and very simple wiring .

thanks so much I think i'm finally done with the wiring I do have a question about starting the engine, i did buy a pulse fuel pump but i don't know how to get it running for the first time, since the pulse pump relies on the engine to create pulses and then pumps the fuel. maybe i use a gravity fed system and then convert it? would the starter motor create a pulse to get the fuel pumping?

The pulse pump will usually prime the engine with the starter .Its sometimes easier to just squirt some fuel into the intake and prime it that way .

So i got the fuel pump mounted on the seat and i tried to start it for the first time by touching the positive wire and starter wire, and for like 5 minutes the fuel was cycling through the fuel pump system till i heard some promising bangs. I kept at it till it finally started and this was my first real engine build (predator 212 doesn't really count) so i couldn't tell if anything went wrong, although i couldn't rev it, and i didn't see the carburetor slide move at all so i felt like something could be very wrong. Sometimes the engine died because it looked like it wasn't getting sufficient fuel but all i had too do was start it again and it ran fine. I feel like theirs something wrong. I took a video of it all

Very nice Riley you are really learning. Always fun. Get your air cleaner and exhaust installed and it will run totally different. Air in and air out it is a balance. Make sure you know which way your choke lever operates for open and close. Good work buddy. It actually sounds pretty good.
