I'm wondering if any one is familiar with this moto it's a Suzuki RV 50, I can't remember seeing one before. This one is for sale, engine needs a rebuild, looks like a interesting project. Thanks.

Looks like you basic little rotory valve 2 stroke. "Rebuild' most likely means bore, piston and rings, would be my guess.

I've only seen the 90cc version, but they look the same. They pop up on the local CL every month. I don't have any direct experience with them, but I like 'em. 8)

Pitster Pro sells a clone of it named the 'Sherpa' and there was one of another clone just the other day on mychinamoto (I think), from another Chinese company. I am impartial to the CT70 (looks, so a clone would do, preferably with a 125cc), but the RV90/Sherpa seems kind of cool, too

This thing, which I've never seen before, looks like a 2 stroke. Might be fast and easy to hop up...

Thanks for the responses, went and checked the Suzuki out, I'm thinking that photo was taken a decade or two ago. A parts bike at best, no engine! They still sell CT 70 clones here, maybe I'll get lucky and find a used one.

Found another RV clone source, oldgringo, and this one even saying something about being a 'genuine' clone of the RV90, but I don't think it would be worth your while buying one from the US... :?

culcune, there are several companies down here that sell CT 70 clones, RTM actually assembles these clones here in Lima, there are a lot of them around. I've also seen some 125's that look similar to the photo that you posted. I'd like to find something used that is not too beat up.
