T3 Running Poor
Hello,
Our Gio T3 is about 1.5 years old and has running great until the other day. It starts and runs fine but when you rev to high it just powers down and almost sounds like you are driving around with the choke on. Low power at mid RPMs. I cleaned the carb, and spark plug. I know I should try a new plug but I cleaned it to almost 100% clean and it didn't do anything. So Carb issues? Spark plug? or something else?? Thanks |

OK, I just found this http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...wtopic&t=13459
That sounds about right. I might have to suck it up and get a new a carb. |

Also, if the plug is the original, you should get a genuine NGK.

The cheapest I've found is around $37 on eBay.
Yes, you'd need to change both jets. It's very easy. Scroll down page 4 for pics: Fun with TurboT's Beast New jets usually cost around $4 each.

OK Thanks, that does look easy. As long as the local shop has them.... So what should I get?? One says 110 and 25 and the other says 110 and 22.5 jets.
What NGK plug fits?? |

Good catch on the slow jets. I initially installed a 22.5 slow jet, but that's not big enough for a smooth idle, especially in colder weather. Start with the 25.
I've been using DR8ES-L NGK plugs with good results.

Well, I bought this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/140708316708?...ht_2894wt_1163
I figured I would just throw it on and try it out, WOW!!! A whole new machine. I was almost stopped in 3rd gear and punched it around a corner and it spun and fishtailed!! WAY more power!! Now if I don't re jet it to what we talked about will it cause any damage??? It seems to run way better than when the quad was brand new but seems like it might need some fine tuning. I will leave the jets unless it will cause problems later on by not doing it. Also did the NGK plugs. |

Glad to hear that it worked out for you.
Jet changes are only necessary if the engine tells you so. How is the plug? If it's white, you're in trouble. Does it start, warm up and idle well? If so, the slow jet is close to ideal right now. The good news is that jets are usually only $4 each.
