Is the oil overfilled? Did the carb leak gas and flood the crankcase?

Welcome!

Those are excellent tips. Make sure the fuel valve is shut off, drain the oil and fill the engine with fresh oil to the dipstick mark. Let us know if the problem persists.

Sometimes after sitting the needle valve will start leaking. The gas from the tank runs through the carb past the open intake valve and the past the rings into the crankcase.
