I am not familiar with that dealer. However, I think the price of $1,600 is too high for a TMEC 200. Are they charging for shipping as well?

thanks I've been trying to find a new source for this bike.

by no means advocating this site, because I don't have any info on them, but I'm having trouble finding a good source for this bike. If anyone knows a better one, please share. I def want this thing.

try these guys--you have to be in an area where there are no distributors of theirs and they should sell to you directly. I had corresponded with them before and mentioned that I am considering opening up a store to carry these bikes in Yuma, and they checked and said no one is a dealer here and gave me a wholesale price, minus shipping.

This guy is a member here; however he bought his at a dealer near to him

This other guy is also a member here and did mail order his--maybe mefast motors?

Alot of his video has music, but if you watch to the end, he shows the bike riding without music, and he had removed the restrictive baffle, so it sounds much better than stock

Mefast motors (they 'borrow' the last video and thank Mike)

These guys are T-Motorsports. They used to sell many, many 'Non-American Lifan' GY-5's and ended up catching much flack for it. They were probably the main culprit behind the whole lawsuit mess, when Hooper ultimately prevailed. However, T-motorsports stopped selling their GY-5's right away. Many people had a decent experience with them, while others had some issues, mainly with parts, as other dealers have trouble with, too. However, they have been around awhile, so are legit, and the fact that they are California-based does add a little bit of credibility to them (the attorney general is very consumer friendly).

A few years ago, $1600 was a high price for Chinese bikes, but now, that is about par for the course/including shipping. Not having one of Excalibur's distributors near me, and the 'hint' of carrying Excalibur's products did get me a much better quote than $1299. It is how you word it (someone else tried this approach on my advice, and I think did not have luck, although not sure which sales guy he approached, and how he worded it).

A price of $1,600 might be "par for the course" today, if the price includes shipping. However, that price is still too high considering the deals you can find on slightly used, Japanese motorcycles.

Welcome to the forum.

I consider that to be a great price but as you have noticed many Chinabike dealers don't do a great job keeping their websites up to date.

Welcome. I'm sorry to say FastDoc is correct; many of the chinabike vendor's websites are woefully maintained.

Mefast is somehow affiliated with TMEC's distributor, Excalibur. The owner of Excalibur told me that the TMECs are currently waiting for EPA approval. Even though they were previously certified, they have to renew. Supersportz also carries TMEC, but do not get them via Excalibur.

One last update...The TMECs are ordered and expected to arrive at Excalibur by mid-Jan. Wade Liu is the owner of Excalibur, and is flying to China to supervise his 'batch' being assembled. He knows the owner of TMEC, and has said the owner comes to California to Excalibur's HQ. I have a feeling that Mefast will be getting their bikes, too, as well as others who get their bikes from Excalibur. I will be stopping at Excalibur next Thurs to pick up some parts for my bike, so can ask him stuff in person, if anyone has anything to ask. He seems like an up and up guy.

Thanks for posting the great information, Culcune! If you get the chance, advise Wade Liu to get the dual sport versions of the TMEC200, not the supermoto versions.

Will do, Spud. Now that you reminded me, I think he had mentioned this a few weeks ago; he said his dealers prefer the dual-sports over the motards, so that will be the majority. I had asked him about 17" knobbies, as I had seen a TMEC with them on CL, and these will come as spare parts, not stock.

If you wanted a bike quicker than waiting, the Yingang was more convenient. If you want a couple of these bikes, than the TMECs will be coming soon. I met with Wade Liu, the owner of Excalibur, yesterday evening. I will post some of our discussion in the 'Dealer and Distributor' section.
