2015 Honda CBR300R Arrives in August

It's official. The Honda CBR300R will arrive in the United States next month as a 2015 model. The MSRP will be $4,399.

Thats awesome. We are actually going to pick up a cbr250r for my girlfriend once she learns how to ride on the china bike. Hopefully the 300 coming over will drop the price of some two fiddys.

Besides the larger engine, Honda also changed the bike's appearance. I really like the new look, and the available color schemes.

Now I am eagerly awaiting a shootout report versus the Ninja 300R.

I forgot to mention, the CB300F is scheduled to arrive in September. This bike is reported to have an MSRP of $400 less than the R version.

The more I think about it, the more I like the F version of the bike.

I sure one could add a small windshield if necessary, to provide a little more wind protection. All Honda bikes always generate superb aftermarket support.

I think you get as much wind protection for the lower body with the F version as you do for the R version.

In addition, you don't have all that extra plastic to remove from the bike when you want to work on it, and you also save a substantial $400.

With an MSRP of $3,999, it costs a full $1,000 less than the new Ninja 300R.

I think the F version also looks even better than the R version.

I'll take a CBR330F, please.

I just checked Honda's website, and the new CBR300F actually costs $200 less than the CBR250R!

According to the Honda website, after you remove the extra plastic, the CBR300F weighs 9 pounds less than the CBR300R.

With virtually the same suspension, and weighing 72 pounds less, I think the new Honda CBR300F is likely a more capable adventure bike than the Honda CB500X.

The CBR300F also costs $2,300 less than the CB500X, which is very nice indeed.

You can certainly buy a windshield and soft luggage for much less than $2,300, and still have a lot of cash left over.

I like the F as well. I hadn't thought about that style of bike as an adventure bike, but why not? Perhaps some DS tires that favour street use would make it very capable.

I think the CBR300F should certainly perform as well as a VStrom, Versys, or CB500X.

The Michelin T63, Dunlop D606, Pirelli MT21, Continental TKC80, Kenda K784, and Shinko 244 are just a few, 17-inch tires which would mount on the CBR300F's 17-inch wheels.

I like the F too. That should be a big seller for honda. I also like it better the v-strom which was high on my list of bike to own. For gravel roads and real light off road I think the honda would do fine.

I'm sure the CB300F would handle gravel roads and easy fire roads far better than the much heavier VStrom.

However, the VStrom would cruise the interstate highways much faster and more comfortably.

In my opinion, the ultimate adventure bikes are the Kawasaki KLR650, Suzuki DR650, and my own Honda XR650L.

However, when the 'adventure' is limited to maintained gravel roads, et cetera, the Honda CB500X does a good job, as shown in the following post. This rider took his CB500X from Florida to Alaska, and had a good time.

I'm sure the Honda CBR300F would have done as well on that trip, and similar trips touring the United States and Canada on maintained roads off the interstate highways. The CRB300F can also safely ride the interstate highways for short periods of time, but I wouldn't want to do it all day long.
