Gio Monster Bumpsteer Fix

Gio Monster 150 bump steer fix

If your having issues with the quad taking off on you this is the fix that worked for me.

On the front end the A-arms are angled down if you look at it from the front and the steering link is practically level seen here

I think they needed to be more similar. So on the steering side of the link I poped the tie rod end off and moved it to the top of where it is mounted.

Sorry I don't have a before picture.

But after moving it the A-arm and link are more or less on the same angle

The link will need to be loosened from the rod ends and turned out since moving it made the links "shorter". I don't have a proper way of doing the alignment. But I eye balled it and got it pretty close. I'm sure you can use a measuring tape. I'd toe it in about 1/8-1/4 inch

Excellent idea! I struggled over the design of the Gio Monster control arms and tie rod because of the wicked bumpsteer. I was focused on the length of the tie rod vs control arm length, but the real problem is how the inner tie rod end is mounted.

As Dave figured out for us, the inner tie rod end needs to be mounted on the underside of the steering gear, not the top side.

Thanks for your contribution, Dave! I'm going to make the change to our Monster.

That is correct. Moving the rod end makes it possible to make the link longer
