PZ30 vs Mikuni Carb Comparison with Pictures
Here is a Comparison of the Mikuni 30mm clone and a KeiHin P30 30mm carburetor.
ID measurements The PZ30 measures 30.48mm inlet and 38.1 outlet Mikuni measures 30.353mm inlet and 39.37 outlet Now some side by side shots. Mikuni on left, PZ30 on right. The mikuni has 4 bowl screws the PZ30 has 3 The idle screws are different This Mikuni came with a lever choke, the pz30 was cable choke. They are interchangeable between brands. The Mikuni came with a nice coating of clear oil inside to keep everything in good shape. All edges smooth The PZ30 had a lot of rough castings spots and extra metal hanging off in places. I also found metal shavings in numerous places. I have already corrected all these problems before the pictures. Sorry. Inside of the PZ30 Jets are not labeled Inside of the Mikuni Labeled jets. Mine came with a 100main and 20 pilot jet Last edited by TheGageinator; 01-20-2015 at 04:21 PM. |

Yours came with a 30 slow jet? I've only ever seen them come with a 20.
Thanks for the excellent pics and comparison. The only comment I would add is thatI think the Keihin has a metal slider, and the Mikuni has a plastic slider.

I had to buy #30 slow jets, so I was surprised to hear that yours came with them. Too bad it didn't.

Not that I'm aware of. I think the V-Raptor uses a pumper carb for easy starting, so if it works, I'd leave it alone.
