Accessory Plug Type

I want to hook up a few accessories to the bike to use the A1 and A2 switches. I found the two white plastic male plugs on the left side under the seat. There are no part numbers and it did not come with the female side to hook wires to. Anyone know what the right female connector is and/or where to get them?
Thanks

I doubt we are going to find a match for them, unless they are sold by CSC. However, you might want to check the Radio Shack website.

Personally, I think I will probably remove the white plugs, and replace them with spade connectors.

Those spade connectors will short to anything metal they touch. Use the 2 wire plugs that come with battery tenders and splice the wires with solder and shrink tubing instead of crimps.

I believe that this is the connector that oldqwerty is referring to:

You can use fully insulated spade connectors or even better marine grade connectors. Marine grade are fully insulated as well as the metal is galvanized against corrosion. All available on Ebay or Amazon and my local ACE Hardware carries them as well.

These are really nice as they also have built in heat shrink. Just make sure you get the right size for your wire gauge. I didn't shop around much, may be able to find them at a better price.

Yes, they will short if you don't insulate them. I always shrink wrap the connections, or cover them with electrical tape, and I haven't had any problems. In fact, I did a complete dual sport conversion for my Honda, CRF250X dirt bike with these connectors, and after 10,000 miles of hard riding on Rocky Mountain single track, et cetera, the connectors are still doing great, and I haven't had any electrical shorts.

However, I do very much like the 2-wire SAE connectors you recommend. Since space is not an issue in this application, and since one is not making a large number of expensive connections, I think your suggestion is excellent.

Those are also excellent connectors.

I also like the SAE connectors (sometimes called "flat two"), but if space doesn't permit them, then two layers of heat shrink over a spade connector does the job.

Absolutely. Since space, and the number of connections are not an issue, the SAE Flat 2 connectors are an excellent choice for this application.

When wiring external, 12V power outlets on my Zongshen ZS200GY-2 and Honda XR650L, I used the SAE Flat 2 connectors.

I bought the mating, SAE Flat 2 connectors at AutoZone.

That is a good point, Pete. These connectors might be unique to China, but I doubt it. However, it certainly doesn't hurt to check.

Nevertheless, if a pair of SAE Flat 2 connectors only costs $2.99, it might be less time consuming, and expensive, to merely make a trip to AutoZone. Since I have a good supply of spade connectors, I might as well use them, save $6, and insulate my connectors well with shrink wrap.

That is another good option, as long as someone doesn't mind waiting for the shipment to arrive from China.

The "Accessory" connectors on the RX-3 are very common on Japanese cars....should be available somewhere.

Thanks for posting that good information. Perhaps a Toyota or Honda dealer would have the plugs in stock, or could order them.
