I bought a Suzuki SP200 dual sport
Well i waited and I was looking for a bigger dual sport and I had looked at a bunch of bikes.I got let down a bunch as I have high standards. I wanted something running and in good shape that had a title. I found this 1987 Suzuki SP200 .I must say I LOVE this bike , I think they had a guy in my size planned for this.This seat is the most comfortable I have ever sat on, new bike included. I looked at new bikes because I couldn't find one nice enough. I wanted an older bike because I think they are tougher ,I m sure Im wrong but it seems that way .This bike only has a couple big scratches but I love it.I like the colors as well I'm not one for yellow or green. Heres the most important part it has 7,138 miles on it and it runs fantastic it starts on the first kick and I don't use the decomp lever(Is This bad am i suppose to?). It runs so well makes 20.7 hp at 8500 rpm it says I believe it . I bought it from the son of the original owner . It had a clear title which I will go put in my name on mon or tues. Let me know if you know anything about them or have had one or have one.

seen the heading..wondered what a Suzuki SP200 was....
we call them DR200... good wee bikes.. pretty dam bulet proof motors... ..

Looks like the SP is the predecessor to the DR series in the late 80s.
And I agree with Pete about the bulletproofness of the motor. I'd be looking for a usedc DR200 but they are one of the shortest 200cc-sized enduros. I thinhk the TW200 may be shorter. I have long legs...

Good score, Demi! I've looked at a few SP's over the years, but haven't jumped on one yet. I've been on the hunt for the SP370.
That little four stroke will be an awesome bike for a long time, if you give it some love. I recommend that you set the valves and change the oil right away. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures! Now, to register for an MSF course.

i'll be turning this in to a supermoto .I found that it is a dr200se thats still made today. I bought jets from keintech and a rear sprocket 39 tooth.

The Suzuki DR200 is a very nice, dual sport bike.

I need some help on this . I have the wheels and tires from a 1991 suzuki bandit 400 .I found the site where it says what axle your bike has but I can't find my sp200 .I knew that wouldn't be on there so I looked for dr200se .I think that was 17mm .Please don't just say here is the link to the site I can't find it after looking . I hope these will fit then I can have my supermoto and put the sp200 wheels on my lifan.

I know they are the same I'm trying to figure out if the wheels I have for the Bandit will fit on the sp200. Like i said I can't find the dr200se but the bandits wheels are 17mm.

They will fit! I measured them like you guys said , now I need to make a caliper adapter to fit it. I have the rear an front brake from the bandit i have to find a way to put the rear brake on as well. I am going to use the speedo cable from the bandit as well.
yesterday I adjusted the valves and r and r the cam chain tensioner because it was stuck. I pulled he two bolts and popped it loose and it did't spring forward.I broke it free and install it loose as it could go like mike motorcycle page said. THen I locked it down. Both the valves and cam chain tension was good but I wanted to make sure I could do it.It runs very smooth I have to get a pipe made to put my fmf factory 4 muffler on when i rejet . What air filter should i use?
